ScottyDoesKnow
I've never done much with world editing as I'm more of a programmer, but I've been editing a mod and need to work with splines now. I copy a whole group of objects and rotate the group but of course splines don't rotate so I need to manually move them all. My thought is that the easiest way to get consistency might be to set small objects where I want them to be (which will rotate) and then set the end points of the spline to be at that exact position. The issue is, how do I type in the coordinates I want for the endpoint of the spline? It doesn't seem to have an item in the cell object list, only the spline itself does. Is there a way I can move the spline endpoint precisely to a location?
chucksteel
I've found when working with splines is that you toggle markers on. this way you'll see their end markers. Next set the "Snap to Connection Point" (the button with a grid and a red dot in it) Using this you can grab the marker and snap it to the connection point on the conduit or light post you want without to much Fuss. Hope that helps.
ScottyDoesKnow
Hmm at first I figured this wasn't very useful, but if I hide connection points inside the blocks I use as endpoints it could definitely work. Thanks!
ScottyDoesKnow
To anyone that finds this, there's an easier way. Ctrl + Shift + A will give you a target cursor and move the selected object to the clicked target. It's not on the keyboard mapping page, but it is on the New Editor Features page.
