Edokage
Orcs are lore-wise known to be great at smithing, with blacksmith npcs in Markarth, various smithing related quests throughout the region and en entire set of armor with matching weapons named after them... Only they're not. In-game, the only bonus they have is a measly +5 to smithing (the same as nords and redguards). Some awesome craftsmen they turned out to be.I know they don't have a passive bonus like the rest of the races because their berserker rage power is so strong it's listed as a game breaker, but some of us would rather have that bonus and an actual challenge when fighting than sixty seconds of non-magical curb stomping on command. ScarabMonkey
It would be best if this was only for females...
mynamethatislong
There's a mod somewhere in Steam Workshop that changes stats and powers on all races. I know they've got an added blacksmith bonus to orcs.
Edokage
I tried taking a look and the closest I could find was 'Racial Changes' by SponTen (if it's not the one you meant then I'll try looking some more).Anyway, 'Racial Changes' does give orcs +10 smithing instead of +5 but the passive bonus they get is a 25% magic resistance (not fortify smithing). The difference between extra initial skill versus fortified skill is that while training can render the advantage of the former obsolete, the latter bonus is not so easily caught up to or negated. Edokage
The search is over. The mod 'Races Redone' gives a 25% fortify smithing bonus to orcs. Edited April 10, 2012 by Edokage
