  1. It was a gamble and a negative response from a lot of people was expected. Still, now that the idea is out there, chances are it will be tried again and may stick. The biggest problem with Valve's mod market idea was them introducing it with a game that already had a huge free mod market. Had they instead tried the model with a new game without existing mods, I believe the model may have stuck around (albeit with a big chance of it not being a huge success, seeing as most games don't have many mods even if they support mod making).
  2. The search is over. The mod 'Races Redone' gives a 25% fortify smithing bonus to orcs.
  3. Seconded. With all the patches and mods it is strange that no one has done anything about this. Even with rich merchants, instant vendor item respawn, alchemy perks and ridiculous transactions resulting in 100000+ gp, which was all used on speech training, was it not possible to max speech anywhere near fast. I imagine only a madman with far too much time on his hands would be able to get to 100 speech without mods, console commands or shamelessly exploiting flaws in the game. Allowing proper speech leveling when selling stacks will not ruin the game; rather, it should have been that way from the start.
  4. Leveling crafting skills has always been rather tedious because of the necessary grinding involved; making 100 iron ingots or training alchemy until your ingredients run out would be much less annoying if only you didn't have to make everything one at a time. Which is why I propose the creation of a 'craft all' button when crafting (using a smelter, forge or an alchemy table) the button will craft as many items as the reagents chosen will allow (tweaks might be necessary in alchemy with 3 or more reagents chosen so as to not make a lot of useless potions).
  5. Perhaps, which is why the last part about nexus site creation was meant in a general sense and not directed at any game in particular.
  6. @BlackRaven117: Creating a nexus site for Spore might renew interest in the game. @Fonger: Yes, that could prove to be a problem. I don't know if EA's stand on modding counts for all their games, but it is likely that Spore is off limit since they still have 'active' games based on Spore (such as Darkspore and a planned game called 'Spore Creature Keeper' this year). It couldn't hurt to ask, though. Troublesome company politics aside, I would still like to know about the creation of nexus sites.
  7. The game had massive potential for modding but few mods were ever made. What does it take to make a nexus site and could one be made for Spore?
  8. Being a guard might be like being in the imperial legion in Morrowind; find stolen goods, solve murders, kill outlaws and just fighting crime in general. The idea has merit.
  9. Adds a dialogue option for Dark Brotherhood players when talking to Babette that either turns the player into a vampire or infects them with Sanguinare Vampiris. An expansion to this idea would be to add non-hostile vampire npcs with the same dialogue option around Skyrim in case a non-Dark Brotherhood player wishes to become a vampire.
  10. Detect ore Like detect life but with ore veins. Different ore types show as different colors. Practical if you think ore veins blend in with other rocks too well but don't want them to stand out like sore thumbs by using mods just to see them.
  11. Simple idea; use frost spells on torches, candles, brazers etc. and they go out. Use fire spells on them and they light up. Useful for realism mods (all artificial light in crypts is put out to begin with since no one has supposedly been there for years) and thieves (who obviously work best in darkness). Tweaks in AI (such as npc behavior when light is put out or on) might be needed for optimal fun. Doesn't work on natural (non-fire) and magical light. What do you think?
  12. I have started a few topics in some of the different sections of the forum and have found that some of them have become obsolete (mod requests, for instance, often do if you find a mod matching your request either already exists or was made after the creation of the topic). These obsolete threads begin to accumulate after a while and makes browsing the forum for relevant topics difficult. I understand moderators can remove topics if they deem it necessary but it would be nice if I could remove the threads I made myself (only those). I don't know if it is already possible to do so but if such an option exist I have yet to find it. If it exists this is a question; how do I remove my own topics. If it doesn't exist this is a suggestion; make the option, please.
  13. It's probably not a good idea. Since pipes lack a practical use, making them craftable would defeat much of the fun in having them as collectibles.
  14. I like the way you think old chap! You could have the more expensive pipes with ornaments and some cheaper just perhaps wooden pipes. Or antler (http://doctor-gus.deviantart.com/art/antler-pipe-67126620?q=boost%3Apopular%20in%3Aartisan%2Fwoodworking%20pipe&qo=37) or perhaps bone since many people in Skyrim hunts. It's all about available materials and imagination.
  15. If different, ornate pipe designs with are made alongside a display case of some kind they could turn into collectibles. Also, rather than regular pipes, khajiit caravans should sell and use hookahs (while still having the occasional pipe for sale).
