Nexuth
Hi everyoneI'm experiencing ghosting, ripping, smearing, tearing like effects on some of my graphics in Sanctuary. I've built the place up quite heavily.Similar to these images https://imgur.com/a/SP828 (from a post with a similar problem https://www.reddit.com/r/FalloutMods/comments/5z5tu2/fo4help_graphics_ghosting_issue_in_cities/That was fixed by using Fallrim and ENBoost. I've tried the latter (no luck) but not the former as it's not recommended to use Fallrim on FO4 to remove Unattached Instances yet.Another poster fixed a similar problem by using the loose files for Fallout 4 HD Reworked Project Revised. I don't use this mod though so it must be something else.I've noticed that by dropping from Ultra settings the problem fixed itself. However eventually I had to go all the way down to Low to play the game. Unfortunately after some more building the ghosting has returned even on Low settings. Before the game became unplayable I could temporarily remove the ghosting by going into Workshop mode, then exiting Workshop mode. That trick has stopped working too now.So thought I'd post and see if anyone has any suggestions to fix the ghosting and if, or how, I should use Fallrim Tools without screwing something up.I've got a stack of mods (240 active ones) and my .ini files seem okay but probably something might be amiss there. I'm an old dude so not up to date with all the techie stuff :-(I've got a 1080Ti and 16g ram and i7 6700K. Windows 10 on an SSD. Vsync is enabled. Frame rate in most places is around 60. However depending on where I'm standing in Sanctuary it can be 60 or fall down to 24-40.Anyway, sorry for the long post but I'm stuck and in desperado mode. Thanks guys. Hellexis
I have the same exact issue in my Spectacle Island Settlement. I am building a huge city, and in the middle of it all is a skyscraper that overshadows the people living on the ground. The problem is this ghosting/smearing youâre describing, I get it bad when I look at the skyscraper from any side. Turning the graphics to 720p on Low helps it a bit, but doesnât fully fix it. Unfortunately I do not think there is a fix for this as Iâve tried a lot of things... I believe this is a game engine limitation, mods allow builders to create settlements beyond the scope of what the developers imagined. I have an I7 6900k 8Core @ 4.2Ghz, 16GB DDR4 and a GTX1080FE. I doubt itâs a hardware problem as your PC is definitely top notch. I am going to borrow an nVidia Quadro from a friend to rule out the hardware bottleneck. But using MSI Afterburner my 1080 is only ~40% utilized with around 3.5GB of VRAM used, so I doubt itâs hardware. Maybe someone else can chime in but at this point Iâve accepted it as a consequence of my ambitious overbuilding.
Nexuth
@Hellexis Unfortunately I haven't been able to find a solution either. I'm at lowest settings possible at the moment which helped somewhat initially but I've kept building to try and get to the end of my build plan and I've got some horrible tears/smears/ghosting/etc now. From what I can work out it seems to be an engine, building limit situation so like you I've had to accept it as consequence of way too much building. Pity. Adviser69
It is limitations with how much can be built in an area at once. This is the main reason the settlement build budget exists. I take it you used a budget extender or remover mod for Sanctuary? Also, if you're using the Ultimate version of Scrap Everything, that can also be contributing to the problem as well. But mainly it's bypassing the settlement budget that causes it.
