Lena Thief with Quest - looking for dialogue/story writer

So, I've tried many times to write her dialogue, but can't get it right. It would be amazing if someone could help me with this.

If you're a voice actor and would like to be a part of this, let me know! I'd be recording her lines myself, unless someone better, that fits her personality, comes along. I also want to add in some NPCs for her interactions, with very few lines.

 

So... let's get started!

Lena is a thief class. 27 years old.

She is mean-spirited on the outside, but a bit of a softy when it comes to children and the needy. She'll make comments when passing beggars and orphans, asking the dragon born to offer gold or shelter. She has a very dark and twisted sense of humor, and will make comments about collecting trophies. She also really likes cats, and I want to add a little side quest of her finding a cat that will follow her around, and she talks to. She loves mead, and will constantly make comments about needing a pint, or being relieved to finally get to drink when entering taverns and inns.

 

She will also make comments when visiting towns about needing to 'settle debts', needing to get supplies, REALLY needing a drink, etc. I'll place a few generic NPCs in some towns that she can interact with. So lines for them would be awesome as well.

 

She can become pretty wild and ill-behaved while intoxicated.

 

She will be romancable. But not easily. I want it to be like a mini game. There will be no hints to romancing her. The player will have to talk to her, and become friends with her, before any romance options become available. And even after romancing her, there's still a chance of her ending it due to something the player says or does.

 

As the player travels with her, she will open up and tell them more about the tome, and eventually the dreams... Which will lead to her quest triggering.

 

Her manner of speak needs to be immersive/lore-friendly. She doesn't talk with modern dialogue. However, she is very spunky and not extremely proper. I plan on giving her a lot of dialogue. I'll be recording them personally, unless someone more skilled offers. I'd prefer her voice to be raspy and not very feminine. I'd like for her to have a hint of an accent, but not strong (unless, again, someone more skilled offers).

 

She will make comments based on location, weather, and story/main quest.

 

Basically, imagine Strider from Lord of the Rings, except a. female, and b. with a dark and spunky sense of humor.

She's a 'born' killer. Not fluffy. She can be seductive when she wants something, however is generally not. She prefers to be one of the guys. So, she's a tom boy I guess.

 

Some Background:

 

 

She was raised in poverty, and orphaned at a very young age. She had always been more of a loner, but is incredibly talented at observing, and learning all matter of secrets about her surroundings. She realized she could excel at this talent when she was young, and invisible to the world around her due to her social standing. However, she can be surprisingly charismatic when she needs to be.

 

During her life, she began dreaming.... very strange dreams. A large, open mansion with plenty of natural light. Drapes flowing with the wind, birds churping happily outside. A woman, in silk robes and a gentle smile. A man with warm, comforting hands. The dream would not end happily ever after, however. Screaming, pleading, sobbing for her child to be spared. But the predator would not relent. Blood. Wind. Gasping for air. And a child screaming for her mother to save her. Regardless of the outcome, Lena would live for these dreams. Eager to sleep each night, hoping to see that gentle smile, and feel those warm, comforting hands.

 

She prefers to lurk in the shadows, wearing her hood and dark attire. She has won many tournaments with her bow and daggers in order to survive, before learning that she could use these impressive talents for.... other activities.

 

During her teenage years, she was part of a tribe of bandits. During her time with the bandits, the leader fell head over heels in love with her. She toyed with him for a time, and became second in command relatively fast. She lived in luxury... something she had never experienced before then.

 

During a raid, she discovered something interesting... a tome, matching one she had worn her entire life, given to her by her mother. This tome, apparently, was that of a very prominent family, who had been known for their lucrative trade in fine silks and fragrances. The story goes that they had a daughter who got killed in a robbery years past. The family became odd, shutting themselves off from the world and disappearing.

Lena became curious of this... obsessed, you might say. She soon decided that she much preferred her loner life, and set off to discover what this 'tome' meant to her, and the connection between herself and this prominent family.

 

This lead her to riften, where she meets the dragon born. She questions them about the tome, giving little information as to how she acquired it, or why she's curious of it. Regardless of her loner personality, she takes a liking to him/her, and playfully asked if she may accompany him/her on their journey.

 

Basically, her quest involves finding this prominent family, and discovering that she is actually their dead/lost daughter. The dreams she had were what happened when she was taken from them. They had spent years searching for her, and eventually accepted defeat and assuming she had been killed.

Both of her parents are very sweet, caring people. They offer to take her in and support her, even at her older age, but she turns them down... as it is not the life she knows and understands, and she feels like she would be out of place, or a burden.

 

After her main quest, she will make comments about the encounter, and question whether or not she did the right thing. The player can use this opportunity to comfort her, and become better acquainted. If the player has already invested enough time into their relationship, and they are in their home (or a camp), this has the potential to spawn a romance scene (I would like to add animation, but may just have it fade to black).
