Fallout 4 Outcasts cand Remnants (unable to take feedback)

Regarding this mod, I posted at their nexus mod that it is not lore friendly and logic friendly but I really enjoy playing this mod.

2 hours later, I was blocked.

I have some problems of protraying Preston Garvey as the bad guy.

Because it clashes with the main game story.

He eventually gives players the quests to retake the Commonwealth settlements and Castle.

It is just harmless feedback.

I was blocked immediately.

Please take feedback (even those negative ones) if modders want to improve the game experience.

That's weird, maybe author was in a bad mood or maybe you came off as insulting somehow. I'd guess the author was tired of taking flak over certain political references in the mod.

Outcasts and Remnants is definitely not lore friendly. It's very high quality as mods go and even has some stellar voice acting for some of the characters, but I figured it was fairly clear that being lore friendly was never the intent. Considering that it pulls a lot from modern politics (sadly), makes a lot of pop-culture references, and literally adds a gang of stereo-type 80/90s style pimps.. it's about right up there with turning vertibirds into flying Thomas the Tank Engines. I loved the raider quests in particular and thought most of vault-tec chunk of the quest was dumb. The prison break was fun though. If the mod was lore-friendly, it would be a perfect addition to the game, but otherwise it's still a great mod overall.

Yeah, I'd classify it as a "great" mod actually (FSR too) but I agree, I really didn't like the stuff about Preston Garvey. It's dangerous territory to drastically alter the storyline like that and, imo, that just didn't cut it. That said, I don't think it was very useful feedback (again, just mo). I mean, to me it's kinda obvious that the authors gave it some thought before going that way and there's no way they'd change it. Especially considering all the posts by people who didn't have a problem with that aspect, or actually liked it. I'm always extremely reluctant to criticize a quest mod because there's some aspect of the story I didn't like, just because there's necessarily going to be such a wide range of opinions on that kind of stuff. And Ethreon is right, I can understand how reading about that can get pretty aggravating for a mod author.

The Preston thing was just some terminal entries anyway if I remember right. You could just not read them or ignore them. If you really wanted, you could pop open the CK and change them. Personally I just omit what I don't like from my head-canon and enjoy the rest.

Fusion City Rising was brilliant overall and made by some of the same people. It's a bit more lore-friendly, but still makes tons of pop-culture references and the city is overall too-clean to really mesh with the rest of the game. It's got a lot of great ideas that are really well executed and adds a ton of new stuff to do in the game.

I'm just happy to have large mods like those at all really. They're huge efforts with a lot of people coming together to make it happen. If you're adding huge mods like that, you're just going to have to accept some lore-breaking as inevitably some will slip in.

F1/2 made a lot of pop culture refs back when it was launched, many contemporary to the game's launch and make.
