game crashes after about 1 min of gameplay

so i have been playing skyrim for a while and i love it but recently i wiped my pc and had to start skyrim a new so anyway i installed all my mods and now everything seems to work for about a minute then it crashes to desktop with no error message

Have you ran LOOT to sort your load order?

If not, try it. See if that makes a difference.

I learned a long time ago that the more mods you have the more vram you will need.

Back in 2013 I could play for about 20 minutes between CTDs with 2 gbs vram. Going from 2gbs to 4gbs vram the time between CTDs went up to 2 hours on the same game.

 

First make sure you have the memory patches installed correctly. Without the SKSE memory patch my game runs for about 15 seconds.

 

Use ENB/ENBoost. It is a must if you have less vram than the game needs. My game uses between 3.2 to 3.8gbs vram depending where I am on the map.

 

Next get rid of the HighRes Texture Packs. At 4k screen resolution they look worse than vanilla. If you need to use texture packs, use the popular ones from this site. They are night & day better.

 

 

After years of testing this game I have found that NPCs use more vram than terrain textures. For example with 2gbs vram I could only have 5 custom followers in the same cell as the player. With 4gbs I could put more than 20.

Mods like Open Cities Skyrim(there is a reason Bethesda put in load walls), 3DNPC, Immersive Patrols II & Immersive Wenches need more vram.

 

If you are using a higher ugridstoload than 5 it could be a ram issue. My game is modded past the point of using ugridstoload 7. It is a 32bit thing.

 

Before doing anything, test with Skyrim Performance Monitor. If it is a hardware issue you will see one of the graphs head for the ceiling.

You're probably limited by VRAM as jones177 says. However, you also have numerous problems with your load order:

• Since you have Climates of Tamriel, disable ELFX - Weathers.esp.
• You have RaceMenuMorphsCBBE.esp but you don't have RaceMenu.
• Since you have VioLens, uninstall The Dance of Death.
• Since you have Amazing Follower Tweaks, uninstall Ultimate Follower Overhaul and kuerteeSimpleMultipleFollowers. Be sure to remove the UFO patches too. If you already have followers under UFO, then follow the uninstall procedure on the mod description page.
• Always read mod Descriptions and check the Posts section for stickies.

Also, for crashes:

• Make sure you have the SKSE Memory Patch set up.
• Install Crash Fixes and be sure to read the description.
• Install Bug Fixes. Not absolutely required, but it has some nice fixes that aren't covered by USLEEP.
• Install Load Game CTD Fix. It fixes a thread race condition when loading save games.
• ENBoost - This gives you the memory management features of ENB without the visual effects processing. Not needed if you run an ENB.
• If you still have issues, you can monitor your stats with Skyrim Performance Monitor.
