first time adding mods, i need help

so i just finally got to build my first pc and am trying to finally play skyrim with the mods i've always wanted to use. got eveything downloaded and sorted and cleaned but still can't get any futher then the bethesda logo screen before crashing. im using NMM, Loot, and TES5Edit, legendary skyrim, for my pc im running asus prime z270-a, 16gb ram, msi geforce gtx 1080 ti, 250gb ssd, 3tb hdd,

from personal experience either

A. you have mods that do the same thing clashing with one another

B. when the overwrite windowpops up asking yes or no to either folder, mod, or all. you messed up on it

C. you have mods that dont work with other mods

D. the wrong mod files

E. you are missing requierd mods for other mods that need it to run

F. all of the above

ive had this happen to me multiple times. it got to the point where my game was unplayable so i just stoped modding and stoped playing skyrim. jus a few days ago i finally started to understand how to mod things in a way where my game wont crash, freeze, or other things. i wont say i dont have bugs in the game but its nothing i cant deal with.

but before i could mod again i had to do a complete cleaning of my skyrim folder taking things out to make it vanilla again so i could mod it the right way.

anyways best things you can do since its your first time ((im still a newb and learning myself)) disable all the mods and uninstall them. install them 3 at a time, run the game and repeat. tedious i know but hey it works if you are new to this. also look up videos on how to mod skyrim, like tips and tricks, needed mods, so on so forth.

If it's crashing right after the logo, then you've got a missing master. Are you sure that LOOT doesn't show any errors? If you go to the Plugins tab in NMM, are any of the plugins highlighted in red? If there are, then click on it and it will say what is missing.

 

Also, you have conflicting lighting mods. RLO and ELFX are not compatible with each other. RLO is not compatible with ELE either. ELFX and ELE are fine together, as long as you don't use ELFXEnhancer.

I freely admit to not knowing anything but I have simiure problems.

 

There is a "load order programme" called loot which apparently can help with this.

yeah went thoroughly through LOOT and other then not having a master mod required for one of the other mods i had that was no longer available everything was good. even after getting rid of that mod it still crashed. ill try removing RLO but am also going to try the go back to squre one and do adding just a few mods at once tactic as well.

ok so read your guide and got Wyre Bash. Quick just to be 100% sure kinda question, you said Never Clean the Update.esm, I also assume then that one should also then NEVER clean the official skyrim dlc's as well then, yes?

The ONLY files you never clean are skyrim.esm and update.esm. Honestly most people clean the Update.esm but i don't recommend it simply because it's an extension of the Skyrim.esm. The rest of the files should all be cleaned according to what LOOT is telling you.
