LHammonds
Although it was quite some time ago, I still remember it quite vividly. I stood out on the edge of the dock and marveled at what it all looked like, then jumped into the water. I noticed the glitch where you could see everything underwater perfectly if you held your head just barely underwater. I then went towards the city with the huge tower and eventually found an entrance which took me to the market district. I went around the back way and eventually saw a shop called Stonewall Shields which looked interesting so I activated the door to see what was inside and the game crashed to desktop. :( Loaded it up again and avoided the city. I ended up doing all kinds of side quests, and adventuring to see what all I could find all across the map...dungeon diving, fort hopping and trolling for caves. ;) After about 200 hours, I started doing the main quest at about level 5 and got to the part where you needed to gather support from various cities (maybe level 8 at this point). I never even rallied a single city. Why? Because this is the point where I started to discover mods (such as Waalx's Atlantean and Father swords. (partly the reason I created my ID at ESF as Conan_Lon) I started going nuts trying to find all the awesome mods I could...thus starting my collection craze. I had about 20 or 30 mods installed (all manually done by hand) and then I started noticing some mods I had installed were getting updated so I upgraded about 10 mods at once and all my savegames were then "corrupt" and no longer able to load!!! I needed to uninstall the updated mods and go back to the older versions but they were nowhere to be found...I had overwritten the old versions and they were no longer available on the web either. All savegames and time spent were lost. This lead to my quest to find a better way to install and manage mods. Found Oblivion Mod Manager and began learning it and eventually started a web site dedicated to learning and helping others learn how to use it. Then I started modding and haven't "played" the game since then. LHammonds
Necromancer G
I killed a patrolling legion horseman. After that I was visited by lucien lachance and I joined the Dark Brotherhood. Then I joined all the other guilds that are in the beginning and finished them before the main quest.
Varus Torvyn
The first thing I did was to go to Vilverin. After taking care of the two bandits outside and powering up at the Ayleid Well, I went inside to get the prize. The "Bag of Holding" (a mod) is in the boss area. The Bag lets you carry a ton of extra loot. When I installed that mod I got the dreaded grey and yellow !. I still do so I just put the bag in a chest.I would guess that stems from patching & load-ordering. If you are patched to 1.2.0416, add the very latest UOP, UOMP, & USIP patches. After that I would suggest using FCOM Helper for load-ordering. You don't have to have the FCOM mod to be able to use it, but it does need a supportive file like OBMM & Wrye Bash does. FCOM Helper places the Bag of Holding mod after all of the official files and all of my added quest-mods except one (Viconia). Other than that, I'm thinking you have another mod on Vilverin that conflicts. Edit - if you choose to use FCOM Helper, I also run OBMM after I'm finished with it, to ensure that the hidden file "Plugins.txt" is updated for Oblivion with FCOM Helper's changes to load-order.
