No textures are loading in CK, first attempt at using software

Hey, I appreciate any help.

Whenever I place an object in the render window it is always textureless/black. Sometimes I get a "TEXTURE: TEXTURE ERROR" sometimes I don't.

I've installed CK into the game directory. attempted re-installs and deleting CK and CK pref .ini's

I'm at a loss at what to do and internet searches have only taken me this far.

You need to toggle lights (and sky, optionally).
