EPDGaffney
That would work if it were my own worldspace, which the interior is, but the major risk is when you exit and are in the vanilla wasteland worldspace. A lot of the NPCs that could potentially join this fight are vanilla NPCs, so I don't really want to risk incompatibility there. Actually, thinking on it, the script's XP would almost certainly be intercepted by the entrypoint anyway, as I believe that entrypoint simply modifies the same values that are modified by for example Skilled and other similar perks/traits. I have Skilled on my test character now, and rewarding 100 XP via script results in 90XP in-game with that character, so I'm guessing this is the same thing. If you're running out of ideas, don't worry about it. Thanks for sticking with me anyway.
Mktavish
Well I guess it boils down to how annoying is that second xp gain for this particular npc. Me ... I sure as heck wouldn't even have bothered worrying about it. But when helping somebody come up with their vision ... I leave my preferences out of it usually. It becomes just the challenge ... so no worries  . So in retrospect ... ya I would just use a complete quest XP ... or successfully complete the challenge. I'm just not aware of how you can turn killing an npc into a challenge ? Like a speech challenge or a lock pick ?
EPDGaffney
It's just like any challenge already in the game, like Bug Stomper or the one about killing Abominations. It will probably be an OnDeath script that results in a message box and a perk. I've never done it but the only missing component is listing the challenge in the Pip-Boy. Sounds easy enough (famous last words, haha). Yeah, I'm the same way helping people. It becomes almost like a puzzle for me. I like it, haha. Mktavish
Are you suggesting a "Challenge" is an object ? I missed it if it was , or is it something new with NV ? I guess the only place I have looked at is the dialogue challenges. No Idea about the lockpick challenge beside the lock difficulty setting. How would you list the challenge in the pipboy ... sounds like a Quest ?
EPDGaffney
It's very similar to a quest. https://geck.bethsoft.com/index.php?title=Challengehttp://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Fallout:_New_Vegas_challenges#Other_challenges They're in the miscellaneous something-or-other in the Pip-Boy. They challenge you to do something and the reward is some experience and a perk, along with a message box explaining what you've done and what you got for it. Like, Lord Death challenges you to kill like 100 enemies and then gives you a slight damage bonus and unlocks the next challenge, Lord Death of Murder Mountain, which requires you to kill far more, and then the last one that unlocks requires you to kill literally more than you probably would normally do, like a thousand enemies or something. You really aren't familiar with these?
Mktavish
OIC it is a new addition to NV ... so yes I wasn't aware of it. Sorry
EPDGaffney
Well, this is the NV forum, so now I'm curious about why you spend as much time as I do here. Are you more of a Fallout 3 fan?
Mktavish
Well I'm a fan of this engine and geck tool ... to be more precise about it. And NV is just an extension of it pretty much. Plus the Fo3 forums are pretty dead compared ... LOL In all honesty I have spent more time modding with NV , than actually playing it. But still not as much as with Fo3. EPDGaffney
I hate this engine, haha. But I like how moddable they made it and I love New Vegas.
