I f***ed up one of my mods so I deleted it entirely and reinstalled the original

I wanted to increase the damage of the .50 caliber hunting rifle more then the weapon balancing mod I installed did. Needless to say I am new and suck ass at trying to figure out FO4edit so I ended up somehow actually reducing the damage of the .50 caliber.

Anyways, I completely uninstalled and deleted that mod and then reinstalled the original mod from nexus mods again. I enabled it but my .50 caliber in game still says that it deals reduced damage compared to what the modded damage should be.

Does anyone know what I may have done wrong?

I'm using the EquilibriumWeapons.esp mod

What I had done was I went into the "object modification" file using FO4edit and changed a value under the property "attackdamage"

It was a MULT+ADD function (which I confess I don't particularly know exactly what that does). The original fallout 4 had the .50 caliber at .7500000 MULT+ADD while the equilibrium mod has it at 1.000000, and what I figured I'd try is upping it to 1.500000 (nothing changed, the damage of the .50 cal didnt change at all). I disabled the mod and loaded into the game, and the damage lowered (understandable since the mod was disabled), but even when I reenabled the mod the damage didnt go back up, it still says 120 down from 180.

In which .esp did you make and save this change? Judging by the fact that you said reinstalling the .50 cal weapon mod you speak of did nothing to revert this change back to default, it is likely you made said change to the EquilibriumWeapons.esp.

Try reinstalling that mod and see what it does.

Regardless, if you want to change the damage a weapon does, you're better off changing the base damage. In Fo4Edit it can be found under [name of you .50 cal gun mod.esp]> weapon > weapon name > scroll down to "Damage - Base". See screenshot for an example;

Well that's the thing, I completely uninstalled and deleted the mod and then redownloaded and installed it, but the damage on the .50 caliber remains the same.

There may still be something I'm missing, for now, I'm going to purge every last thing I did and then try a truely clean redownload and install of the mod (I had made other plugins) and see if things get back to normal.

Also, I would hate to change the base damage because I specifically want only the .50 caliber to be buffed, not the hunting rifle as a whole.

I know this is going to sound really stupid, but I've tried googling MULT+ADD functions but I can't find anything, can you explain to me what exactly they entail (if you have the time)?

Unsure. They appear to be modifiers for all kinds of things. Including damage calculations. I'd suggest trying out different values and see what and how much they change in-game.
