Deleted3082751User
since you are using sli i am going to assume your game is heavily modded, if it is not heavily modded and is basically vanilla, sli is completely not necessary, a single gtx 1070ti can run an heavily modded skyrim, easily. having 2 is overkill unless you are running the game at 2k or 4k resolutions. try disabling sli temporary, and see what GPU usage you get on a single card, 50% is obviously very underused, if it is a heavily modded game, and you are only getting 50% usage, that would indicate throttling, potentially you processor cannot handle dual 1070ti, and may be bottlenecking them. always remember that the processor must be strong to handle 2 powerful graphics cards, as the graphics cards and processor interact with each other, (the graphics cards will send a lot of data to the processor very frequently, if the processor cannot process the data as quick as it is receiveing it, this will result in bottlenecking, a.k.a throttling, which in turn results in sub optimal performance) so yea few questions: 1. is you game heavily modded 2. what resolution are you running the game at 3. is all power saving completely turned off, basically do you have all options set to high performance mode, this includes, windows power options, and nvidia control panel. 4. What PSU do you have, including its total Wattage - bare minimum wattage for dual 1070ti setup would be 750 watts, Gold Rating, Power Supply Unit Recommended wattage would be probably 1000 wattage, your psu must be atleast a tier 1 or tier 2 power supply unit, for a high end SLI setup a few things to try, to ensure that it is not caused by bottlenecking: 1. temporary disable SLI and see what GPU usage you get on a single card, if you get 100% usage on a single card, then that could highlight the fact that your processor is not strong enough for sli, however with that said, SLI and Crossfire, splits the task up in half between all graphics cards, which may result in less than 100% gpu usage on both cards. however i am only guessing here, i have never actually seen gpu usage on multi gpu setups before. memamu3
THX !1. is you game heavily modded - YES2. what resolution are you running the game at - 1920 - 12003. Yes4.Be quiet! 750 GoldWith SLI disabled :I get the same FPS in the same areas. When i move to the first spot the FPS goes up to 50 and the Usage up to 100%When i move to the second spot the FPS goes down 25 and the usage is also going down to 50%CPU usage is never over 25%Strange that the FPS drop is snyc with the GPU usage drop.By the way....my FPS is cap to 60. That should be the reason why my SLI GPU usage is not going over 50-60% Edited December 27, 2017 by memamu3
Deleted3082751User
hmm, i need more in depth information to get an idea of what is going on, is it possible for you to record gameplay, with your gpu usage, cpu usage and memory usage showing (overlay) just a snippet to show framerate changes between 2 areas, this would help get an idea of what is happening also can you list all of the mods you are using, to see if any mod may be a potential culprit. it could be a mod conflict. by spots where do you mean exactly. the sync between framerate and gpu usage is to be expected, less gpu usage = less performance. best way to think of it, is in a car the gpu usage would be equivalent to your foot on the pedal, the harder you press down the faster the car goes, well that is basically the same as gpu usage, the higher the gpu usage, the harder you are pressing the pedal in the car and thus the higher framerate/performance (if you get what i mean). 1. need a list of your mods, to help detect if your framerate is because of them. 2. 1080p resolution, you should definitely not be getting low fps with your card at this resolution. 3. okay atleast we can rule this out. 4. your Power Supply unit is adequate so we can rule that out as a potential cause Framerate cap does not effect GPU Usage, a good example of this is for me on fallout 4, my framerate is capped to 60 (on a heavily modded game, and since it is heavily modded this will cause higher gpu usage), and i get a consistant 100% gpu usage, if i was to uncap my framerate i get about 115 fps, so the graphics card will still be pushing for them additional frames, but then the limiter locks them to 60 or whatever you set this to, so while you are only getting 60 fps, your actual framerate caused by the gpu should be much higher and in turn means higher GPU usage, because your graphics card is working harder to draw all them details. memamu3
i reset both ini files and the problem is still the same.the biggest impact is when i set the "object fade" ingame to zero. With set to zero the FPS goes up to nealry 50FPS and the GPU Usage to 35% SLIWith object fade all up the FPS goes down to 25 and the GPU usage DOWN to 25% SLIThe FPS drops are mostly when i look towards a town from distance. (from the collage of Winterhold to Winterhold for example) Edited December 29, 2017 by memamu3
