i used to be imperial soldier before, then at the end of the line... attacking windhelm, i tried something unusual thing.

When the other army attack from the front gate, i went to the back, right at the dock when you want to start dragonborn quest. I entered the windhelm form the back door, and kill that ulfric...

but then, after the mission, windhelm get no available on the map. The program said that i should help to defend the city first. WTH ? i already slaugher their king, why should i defend it ?

and sugestion for this ? i've tried many time to search for an suggestion but no thing change after all...

If you are Imperial faction and attacking Windhelm, you should not have to defend the city. That's the job of the Nords and Stormcloaks. You seem to have switched factions and maybe killed him too soon in the quest.

Try loading an earlier save and not doing the unusual thing. Maybe you broke the quest by doing something out of order?

These sites have details of how the quest should go:

http://elderscrolls.wikia.com/wiki/Battle_for_Windhelm

http://en.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Battle_for_Windhelm

Is that what you did? Or did you just sneak in and kill him? Normally, Ulfirc is essential and cannot be killed, but at some point he is made killable, but usually he is killed as part of the quest line with the usual dialogue choices. I always play Stormcloak, so I've never come across this before.

Also, do you have a Civil War mod? Please post a list of your mods as maybe one of them has gone wrong.

Also:

Which version of Skyrim are you using?

Do you have the Unofficial patches for that version?

Good Luck
