Permanant Addictions

Could someone find a mod so that doctors can't cure addictions? I'm not worried about fixer, because I have a mod that fixes fixer so that the addiction cures are only temporary. So far, I've done this through self-control by not going to doctors to get addictions cured, but I dislike crude methods. Any help would be appreciated!

I believe these doctors' dialogs can be easily disabled, not sure tho, by navigating with FNVEdit after you find the related dialog message object and where they are referenced/used.

 

I would like to add that, b4 a big fight you could store a lot of food, near a water sink, and spend 15 to 30 days resting to remove all addictions properly. Btw, the room should obviously be locked and only auto open after that time :)

The actual curing "RemoveSpell [WithDrawl Effect-ID] " happens in a quest stage result script.

 

Quest : VDoctors ... Quest Stage : 20

 

So remove all the text from that quest / stage / result script. The dialogue options for them to cure you and take your money , will still be there , but they won't be able to cure you.

Removing all the dialogue options would be quite a bit more involved , so as not to break things.

 

There is also the Quest : Doctors ... but I think that is just a hold over from Fo3 and probably not used in NV.

But it wouldn't hurt anything to do the same thing there to make sure.

 

However ... doesn't sleeping cure addictions also ? Or was that just in Fo3 ? I couldn't seem to find anything indicating the player would get cured from sleeping in FNV.

LOL ya ... that would be a good alternative to replace the Quest stage result script for when asking to get cured.

Have it initiate a whole mini game type scenario ... so that getting cured wasn't so easy.
