skyrim is now crashing[need help]

hello everyone...

my game is crashing now and i don't know what is the problem[Note. The game is crashing only when i enter WHITERUN]

he only thing i know is that the game started crashing after i installed some mods. i have 3-4 back ups of my meshes and texture folders and when i copied my first and 2nd back up the game still crashed (ofcourse one at a time). the only difference between my 1-2 backup folder and 3-4 backup folders is that after making my 2nd backup i started downloading and installed cloth mods, castle mods and npc mods, adult animations. So which one do you guys think causing the crash. i don't want to install a fresh copy cause there are a lot of mods i installed and don't want to do that again cause most of the mods i don't remeber.

Its almost impossible to tell which ones it is, Dont know if it will help but Darkwater keep,lokirs final,drago cave,hall of the dragon priests,the witch king,scale,adjusted smithing weights,giant cheese,sheogoraths shout and unique treasures made my game crash around whiterun and the abandoned prison.

 

My advice would be that you only add 15-20 mods and take your time to find the best ones, I had 104 mods and became so frustated that i made a fresh install of skyrim without any mods. Play the game first and add mods later on to spice it up Saves you a lot of trouble

I am having the exact same problem recently.

Skyrim had been running wonderfully (no CTD at all and I play daily) up until 1.5 patch.

 

I have not added new mods since the patch and the one's I have been using for weeks (some months) without any problems at all were:

--SkyUI

--Categorized FavMenu

--Better Sorting

--Tytanis

--Quality World Map

--HD 2K Textures

--Dragonbone Weapons

--Sexy Cities

--Enhanced Night

--Player Home Map Markers

--Glowing Ore Veins

--Deus Mons

 

Since the patch, 75% (esitimation) of the time I try to enter Whiterun (fast travel or through front gate) game CTD's on loading screen. ONLY happens to me when trying to enter Whiterun.

I read a lot of house mods conflicted with the 1.5 patch, so tried uninstalling Deus Mons but the CTD continues.

 

After uninstalling Deus Mons I verified game cache and it said 4 files were undetected (something like that) and steam proceeds to download something (dont know what files).

But, game still CTD majority of time entering Whiterun on loading screen.

 

Anyone with suggestions as to what might help please share them.

Sir i think i have less than 20 mods installed and yes i already finished the main storyline of the game. And i didn't install any of the mods you mentioned. The reason i want my problem gone because i wanna be a werewolf and i can't do that if my game will crash everytime i enter whiterun. Edited March 24, 2012 by zaselim
