Ethreon
Still don't know why there are no mod-packs available, they do it for Minecraft would be just the same. I think it's people being ignorant. So your highly esteemed intelligence, why are you not making mod packs yet? After all, if they're easy to make in minecraft, must be piece of cake everywhere else right? pra
What can nexus do that would suddenly make mod packs not a pain to make and distribute?Make a mod manager with "mod pack" support. And by "mod pack" I mean basically a list of mod IDs in a certain order. The mod manager could then download and install them in that order. Wouldn't be perfect, but would be something at least. You would still need to go through all the necessary FOMOD installers, and it would only work with each mod's main file, not with any optional file. What makes mod packs work in Minecraft are IMO the config files. You can just preconfigure everything in advance. Not so here. You would need a way to automate FOMOD installation, and, even worse, in-game configuration. In the end, to make this work really well, it would require A LOT of effort from Nexus, certain other tool develeopers, and modders themselves, but for what? In the end, I don't think it's worth the effort.
