[wip] plantigrade feet for beast races

So it's been two weeks now, I'm sorry.

For everyone who's still interessted, I do have a new picture. Although it does not look like progress. :/

I redid the UV unwrapping to match it to the vanilla texture and the Coverkhajiit retexture as best as possible. There's still some seams but I don't think it's worth fussing with it any longer. It's not getting that much better anymore. So I claim it's compatible with vanilla textures and any texture replacer that works with the vanilla body.

Next I reworked the model multiple times to make it work with the weight slider for females and males.

There is a small gap at the ankle, which puzzles me a bt cause I matched the models to the vanilla feet. Don't know if I didn't notice it before when testing with female size 0. Hm. Anyways I doubt you'd notice it without using tfc.

The biggest problem though, is that the medium weights for females look totaly jumbled while it works fine for males. But I did the same steps for both!

*sigh* I'm just going to do the female feet again. See if it works than.

Not much to show off at the moment.

I redid the female feet in Blender and exported them. But before I can test them ingame I have to adjust them in nifskope. Which is not much fun, that's why I didn't do it straight away.

Anyway, cause Blender was running anyway, I thought I do a little UV unwrapping for the argonians.

So these are vanilla textures on them.

The claws have the same placeholder texture than the khajiit claws.

What color are cat's clwas? black?

For the argonians I think something like bone...

Pheeeew.

Finally the weight slider works for the female khajiit. I had to export and adjust them a few more times over. I'm still not entirely sure why it's working now. Or what was causing the trouble before. Maybe because the NiTriShapes were switched between _0.nif and _1.nif? Although that wasn't always the case.

The argonian feet broke completely while exporting, and cause I had no idea how to fix it, I went back to an earlier backup. Really, I'm getting fed up with uv unwrapping. And for some reason the male argonian texture doesn't fit although it looks like the female one, excpet for the color. So the same uv map should work, right? But no, it's somehow in the wrong place.

female argonian. Could someone explain to me why the claws do that? They look fine in 3rd person, so it's probably only cause I crept to close with the camera. But still o.0

Edit: Oh right, and this time the weight slider is working for the females but not for the males.

I guess everyone is having a look at my screenshots and leaving quickly. *g* I wonder how many argonian and khajiit players there are anyway.

 

My pride dictates to get the male argonians to the same level of "finished" as the rest, than yeah, I think I will release this. Probably with a list of stuff I'm not happy with and the hope to change it once my skills (and the skyrim support for blender) evolved somewhat.

Sorry, I didn't mean to offend anyone. I'm sure there's a lot of players for the beast races.

I just keep saying anyway. :rolleyes: Anyway.

I'd also like to know how many players are playing as redguards or orcs. (Those and Dremora are my current characters.) I believe there was a poll somewhere... hmmmm.

 

But first I'm going to read the "True Anthrophomorphic Race " thread. I didn't know that existed before. :)
