Gouldy80
Hi, I'm sure this is probably a question that's been answered elsewhere, but I could not find anything definitive, so I apologise if it has! I feel I should really know this already, but wanted to double-check with the experts. So, I've been using Skyrim 2K textures for a while and now fancy giving Noble Skyrim a go . Question is , should I deactivate HD2K first then activate Noble Skyrim, or simply leave HD2K active in NMM and activate Noble Skyrim, overwriting when required? My assumption would be to deactivate HD2K first as its only textures, and Noble would be changing all the same file anyway. Is this correct though?? The last thing I want to do I brick my save! If it makes any difference, I have the following mods currently installed: DLC (DG & DB)Official High Res packsSMIMaMidianBorn - Armors and WeaponsImmersive ArmorsImmersive WeaponsPaper World MapShadow Striping FixAFTLockpick GraduationAOS2Skyfalls / SkymillsA Matter of TimeAchieve ThatConvenient HorsesCloaks of SkyrimPredator VisionFootprintsWet & ColdUnofficial High Res PatchSkyrim HD 2KSkyUIRealistic Water 2Falskaar Again, sorry for dragging up what is probably a very simple and much answered question. I just feel I should be clear before doing anything. Really appreciate your help guys Jamie
Novem99
Question is , should I deactivate HD2K first then activate Noble Skyrim, or simply leave HD2K active in NMM and activate Noble Skyrim, overwriting when required? You cannot activate/deactivate mods that come without a plugin (.esp) like Noble or Skyrim HD 2k. You can install/uninstall them (that's something different). And no you shouldn't uninstall Skyrim HD 2k. Just install Noble and let it overwrite Skyrim HD 2k. My assumption would be to deactivate HD2K first as its only textures, and Noble would be changing all the same file anyway. Is this correct though?? No it's not. This would require Noble to retexture the exact same files like Skyrim HD 2k does. If Skyrim HD 2k retextures an object that's missing in Noble and you uninstall Skyrim HD 2k first then you will fall back to the low resolution vanilla textures. The last thing I want to do I brick my save! You can never brick your save with pure texture mods since there's nothing these mods could write in your save. Gouldy80
Yep, i see. And if i decide Noble isn't for me (or too much of a performance hit) i can simply uninstall it and go back to using HD2K. Thanks for the advice
