Ciberious42
Ok, to start off with... I've been crashing for two days now, It was pretty irritating. These steps may be long, could be shorter but I want to make sure every has the chance to enjoy their game like I do. I haven't posted anything on here really, but I want to contribute to something! :) I learning all the programs and taking the tutorials. I do a lot, i mean a lot of work in Adobe. I tried removing all mods, deleting .ini files, I tried everything. The new patch has a problem parsing with the skyrimpref and the skyrim.ini in "mygames/skyrim" folder. I tried just deleting it and trying to create a new one, didn't work. The audio bs, didn't work... shadows... didn't work... So, I'm going to give you the painful process of NOT crashing anymore, IF it doesn't work for you, I'm sorry. The new patch conflicts with previous mods, ini files and savedgame content. I can't tell you EXACTLY what it is, but this is your solution. 1.Uninstall ALL mods, NMM and Manual mods.(everything needs to be uninstalled to go back into your "mod" folder)2. Copy mod folder out of your programs/steam/steamapps/skyrim folder, or where ever you have it and place it temporarily on your desktop.3. Copy "savedgame" folder out of MyDocuments/MyGames/Skyrim folder and copy/paste onto your desktop as well.4. Uninstall NMM from your computer or what ever Mod Manager you're using.(mods will be on the desktop, I will explain the process in the steps! IT'S SIMPLE!)5. Uninstall Skyrim. If you're using steam, delete ALL local content.(go into your steamapps folder and make sure all content is gone!) 6. Delete your Skyrim folder out of "MyDocuments/MyGame" 7. (Optional)Restart your system, make sure the computer completely recognizes that it's uninstalled.8. Do a clean install, if you're using steam the patch should automatically be applied.9. Once install is complete, reinstall NMM. Now take the mod folder that's on your desktop and put it back into your steamapps/skyrim folder. (Open up NMM and check your mods list, with out a doubt your mods should be there!)10. Place your savedgame folder from your desktop back into your MyDocuments/MyGames/Skyrim folder.(Should restore all your saves) ****THIS NEXT STEP IS IMPORTANT!!! DON'T GET TO IMPATIENT!**** ****Now you have a clean install with no mods, follow the next steps before adding all your mods back. I tried this the easy way by doing a clean save by new game, it didn't work. I still got the crash mid load or got the script errors.**** ****ALMOST DONE!!! The reason we're doing this is, some mods are compatible with 1.5 and will cause script errors and such. So just uninstall a mod isn't going to work because your character load could rely on replacers or addons that's currently on your save, your game isn't going to load something that's not there.**** 11. (Install these mods only at first, IF they APPLY to you.)**IF** you have any beauty mods ie; scars or hair. install them before you load your game(will give you a script error if you don't, or won't load.)12. Load the game with the mods I said to select, now.... Open your ~ console, type "showracemenu" Change all your hair, scars or paintings to vanilla settings.(it don't matter which because you'll get them back by doing the same command after this process is over.)13. now that you've done that, hit your "wait" button, slide it to 24 hours... do it a few times if it makes you feel better. 14. Save and Exit.15. Uninstall the mods you initially installed to get the game to load. 16. Go back and load into the game you just saved, wait another 24 hours.17. We're going to save again, but another way. Open your console, do "savegame vanilla" or what ever you want to name it.18. Reinstall all your mods, you may want to install a few at a time so you can sort out if your mods did anything to your game. Ok, well that's it... I know it was kinda drawn out but these are the steps I had took and it worked. Worked for my brother as well.
