They want him to anoint the sword yet they keep it out of his reach. He could of course take the weapon anyway but he didn't want any... misunderstandings. When Amy spoke he eyed the woman curiously. Without its full power it wasn't easy to tell who is the chosen one. "The history of this sword is vague and even the most ancient of beings could not tell everything there is to know about it. This weapon might be as old as time itself. It is truth however that this weapon can kill almost any supernatural being but at the moment it is but a chunk of metal." The man's eyes turn black and he says "The chosen must die!" Whistler turns around, and swears. He shoots at the demon man with his shotgun.
