"Alright," Raven replied, getting back in her car, "but we're stopping in Cheyenne."

She was already fatigued, but she tried not to show it.

Time: 10:57

Back at his place, David threw some clothes together and tossed them into the back of his Camry, along with his emergency funds, some food, and--after a bit of deliberation--his shotgun. As he figured it, they'd probably skipped town by now, but if he knew their general direction he may just be able to track them down and talk to them. He climbed into the car and sped off to the other side of the city.

July was back in the car again, driving and following Raven's car. She was feeling a bit tired herself now but there will be time for rest later. Hallowed Be Thy Name by Iron Maiden was playing on the radio. Not so loud as she usually listens to her favorite bands but she assumed that music playing loudly might attract attention and they really don't need more attention.

Suddenly her phone rang. At first she wasn't going to answer but whoever called her had no intention of stopping so she had to answer. "Yes? Mika? Yeah, thanks for leaving me alone to deal with that Rugaru back in Austin." For a brief moment July listened to what the person Mika said while still carefully watching the road. "That bad, eh? I'm afraid you will have to sneak past the guy or get a permit or something. No I can't help. I have business elsewhere." With that July ended the call and continued the journey.

3:00AM.

Three in the freaking morning.

Her eyes felt sandy, and she blinked multiple times as she tried to focus on the signs above the interstate.

5 mi to Cheyenne

They had made better time than she thought they would - partially because she had pushed her speed up to 85, and partially because of dwindling traffic.

After about forty minutes of driving, asking some rather irritated peope for directions, and more driving, David arrived at a very exclusive-looking bar where the Ferrari Enzo was, much to his surprise, still parked. However, the other two cars were long gone, much to his dismay and slight worriment. Walking in, he managed to bribe the barkeep for a good seventy-five dollars. Apparently, three girls had come in here earlier, looking like they'd just been through a nasty fight. After a couple good hours of drinking and talking, they abruptly got up and left with a marked amount of casualty. The bartender didn't know where they were headed, but he had heard a few snippets--mainly, "--shack just outside Bighorn National Forest--" and "--north on I-25 for a ways. Once we get to Buffalo--". Also, he mentioned that one of the girls--the British one--was apparently too drunk to drive and was going to ride with another. Not much to go on, but enough for David to follow. Thanking the barkeep, he walked outside and went to check out the Ferrari. By some shear stroke of luck, it had been left unlocked--he guessed the British girl had also been too drunk to think of locking it. Walking around to the back of the car, he popped the trunk.

"What is this stuff? Holy water? Bags of...salt? Pentagrams?"

Hurriedly, he slammed the trunk down. As an afterthought, he picked up the stuff, put it in his truck, and slammed it down again.

Going around to the front and popping open the glove box, he didn't find much. Snacks. Makeup. Standard glove box things, although there was a conspicuous lack of registration. The rest of the small two-seater car didn't yield much more, either. Ah well.

Leaving the bar, he went to a nearby wal-mart and picked up some maps, as well as more food and about twice his weight in coffee. At about twelve-fifteen, he was on the I-80 to Wyoming.

July was watching the road and Raven's car. She started to regret that they decided to continue the journey instead of stopping and resting in a hotel for a bit. Maybe there's an abandoned house somewhere? The hunter with one of her hand rummaged through the glove box and after the short search she pulled a walkie talkie which policemen usually use. She turned off the radio and turned on the walkie talkie. Maybe they'll hear something about them.

Raven took the first ramp she came to, eventually pulling up at a Hampton Inn and Suites. She stood by her decision to pay for the rooms. After all, she had to find some way to pay back Amy for the drinks and July for following her all the way to Wyoming.

She was slow getting out of her car, as if her brain was refusing to function. Shaking her head to clear it, she closed her door, locked the car, and leaned against the driver's side window, waiting for July to arrive.

"I agree." July said and pulled out in front of the hotel. She then got out from her car and stretched a bit. She loved driving her car at night but God, tonight's journey was getting rather annoying. Before closing the door, she turned off wakie talkie and put it back to the glove box and locked the car. "That's a big place." She said and glanced at the building. She started to wonder. Is she the only one of the three who stays in cheap motels and abandoned houses?
