cdcooley
If you have any mods that provide an SKSE plugin or any other type of DLL file those also have to be updated. Simply Knock is one example of that type of mod.
Fiddlewidget
I have a different problem that is an easy workaround but I'm curious if anyone else has experienced. SKSE64 runs just fine, except the first time after a system boot. I launch it through the Nexus Mod Manager. The first time after a reboot, it launches Skyrim, which runs, but without SKSE64 and I get the classic startup splash panel. If I were to click "play" from there I would get an error message about SKSE64 not being present. However, if I just click "Quit" and then relaunch it again from the NMM, it works just fine from then on and launches directly into the game main menu until I reboot again. I ruled out NMM not launching the right thing because I can see the CLI window open up and run the SKSE64 launcher, which then launches Skyrim the wrong way. So, like I said, easy workaround, just abort and relaunch after a reboot. I just wondered if this is something unique to me or has anyone else had this happen? Grospolina
Fiddlewidget, this might happen if Steam isn't loaded. Do you have Steam automatically load on startup? If not, then try launching Steam before SKSE64. Alternatively, go into Steam Settings -> Interface and check "Run Steam when my computer starts". ThePerfectPasta
So I'm not sure about my SKSE. I use Skyrim Special Edition from steam, and I have only gone for the Special Edition SKSE. I also downloaded the latest version of it from Silverlock both times. I have never used it before however I have tried through a mod manager then manuel and I acquired the same outcome. Whenever I start Skyrim it starts like it should hoever after a very short time(3.44 seconds from when I double click) the program crashes. I have verified that the program completely crashes because I was watching my sysinternals to see if it stopped completely or was working in the background. When I downloaded it I made sure to install it correctly in both types. I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem and fixed it, or had an idea as to how I am to fix this problem. anjenthedog
In my case, if SKSE is crashing, it usually means I have installed some errant mod. And usually (the most number of times I've encountered the problem) that mod turns out to be an LE mod. (also: have installed too many mods, improper version - I run under 1.5.80 still - or added too many animations )
