  1. As of the latest forced update 3 days ago, it's broken again. I'm so sick and tired of having to spend 5 or 6 hours trying to get everything working again every time they do one of these updates that I'm just about done with it altogether. I've gone so far as to completely remove (archive and all) SKSE64, XP32 MSSE, CBP, and Immersive CBP Config, and re-download the latest versions and install them, to no avail. Are we going to have to wait for a CBP update?
  2. ROFL! Thanks. Since I was dealing with Nexus stuff, I made a booboo. I fixed it. I meant Vortex, of course. At least it was right in the post title!
  3. I tried MO2. First thing it asked me to do was point to the game executable. I pointed it to my game folder which contained SkyrimSE.exe, SkyrimSELauncher.exe, and skse64_loader.exe and it told me there were no executables in that folder so game over. I don't have time to mess with something that can't even see an executable in a folder. God knows what other teeth I'd have to pull to get it working right.
  4. After migrating from NMM to Vortex, nothing worked, so ultimately I deleted everything - the game, all mods, kaput, and downloaded and installed a fresh version of the latest Skyrim from Steam. It runs fine. I then installed SKSE64. At this point I have nothing but a pristine Skyrim plus SKSE64. I then point my Vortex dashboard tool at SKSE64 and launch it. The game starts, but after clicking NEW, simply hangs. It doesn't crash altogether, just hangs with the Skyrim logo and music playing. If I launch Skyrim directly without SKSE, all is fine. So I thought there was a problem with SKSE. Not so. Apparently, it's only when launching from the Vortex dashboard that this happens. If I launch skse64_launcher.exe directly, outside of Vortex, everything works fine. Even though my Nexus widget has no environment variables or command line parameters specified, it is apparently doing something it shouldn't. Note that I still have no other mods installed, just Skyrim and SKSE. So if you're having this issue, you might just want to launch from the .exe and not from within Vortex, and don't bother the SKSE team about it. Add this to the long list of headaches that Vortex has become. I'm about done with Skyrim altogether at this rate. I spend more time managing and fussing with things to make my mods work than I do playing the game.
  5. I have a different problem that is an easy workaround but I'm curious if anyone else has experienced. SKSE64 runs just fine, except the first time after a system boot. I launch it through the Nexus Mod Manager. The first time after a reboot, it launches Skyrim, which runs, but without SKSE64 and I get the classic startup splash panel. If I were to click "play" from there I would get an error message about SKSE64 not being present. However, if I just click "Quit" and then relaunch it again from the NMM, it works just fine from then on and launches directly into the game main menu until I reboot again. I ruled out NMM not launching the right thing because I can see the CLI window open up and run the SKSE64 launcher, which then launches Skyrim the wrong way. So, like I said, easy workaround, just abort and relaunch after a reboot. I just wondered if this is something unique to me or has anyone else had this happen?
  6. For anyone still having this issue, there is a trigger just prior to coming into the room that for some reason sometimes fails to fire. Try leading Mercer back out of the room and around the corner. He will usually "trip" the trigger, do an about face, and go open the lock. Works for me but results may vary, of course.
  7. I have this problem constantly. There will be red dots on the compass but no enemies whatsoever. Right now it's killing me in Blackreach, because as long as there's any hostile anywhere in this 10 square mile area, I can't mine, wait, etc. This is a fundamental flaw that a game should never have shipped with to begin with, with so many simple solutions on the coding side. Many RPGs have this problem, including WoW. Your'e barricaded in a safe room with the door locked, but you can't rest because somewhere on the other side of this dungeon through 17 layers of walls there's some creature. Seriously? Especially in an RPG where you're in a party. You've really never heard of posting a guard or watch? Maybe you should understand fundamental tactics before developing a game. Anyway, now I will have to clear every single last enemy out of the entire Blackreach area before I can so much as mine some ore.
  8. 9 years later and still bugged. It was odd enough that I got this quest after already having re-assembled Wuuthrad and returned it to Ysgramor. But the quest marker is pointing to a non-existent space inside a wall. So I can't even get the piece that shouldn't exist in the first place. Come on Bethesda, how hard is this? If {Glory of the Dead == Done} then {DON'T GIVE THIS DAMN QUEST}! LOL
