OmegaGray479
Is it just me, or does it seem like there is more time spent trying to fix and make this game work than there is time spent actually playing it? I was having graphic issues and after spending months on trying to fix it I just reinstalled everything and got the game to finally work.I can make a new file and customize a character once again but, the game will only run if I start Steam at admin and then run Fallout through Steam.Attempting to run FO4 through my PC from anywhere results in the the loader repeating to ask me to hit play.In addition to this...Now F4SE (Which I also reinstalled) wont open due to not being able to find Fallout4.exeI tried adding the .exe and it just made a new copy of the loader, and it is set to show hidden files.I can run the F4se loader from the Common/FO4 but it will CTD soon after the main menu loads. lol, In addition to this! I can't open the creation kit. It's telling me that the Steam_api64.dll is missing. After about 2 hours of searching all I can find are the sites to not download it from and a bunch of people asking how to fix this but nobody saying that they have fixed it, not without downloading something from some malicious site.I reinstalled Steam hoping it would replace the missing file and it didn't. So, in short I can't get Fallout4 to run on F4se without CTD on the main menu, I'm missing Steam_api64.exe Fallout has been my favorite game since it came out, but I'm honestly about done with this. Bernt
Sounds strange - and my question probably sounds even more strange. To say the least..............But - have you deleted/moved one or more unneccsary files from your data folder? The reason I ask is because at one time I suddenly was missing some - very important- file. One of the dlls I think. I found it among my screenshots :excl: When moving my latest batch of screenies I had gotten one too many files. Rendering my game unplayable. But it took me a hell of a long time - and way too much googling- before I found out :wallbash:
OmegaGray479
I deleted everything related to fallout and reinstalled it all. I haven't moved anything from it though.I reinstalled the creation of as well, after it told me to validate the files and it's still having the same problem. KnorKater
Where's your Creation Kit installed? Try to install it into the F4 directory if it's not there.
Shoarmabro
Hey,So I just want to verify that OptimisticNihilist tip is indeed correct. For me the installer automatically placed the creation kit in the bethesda folders instead of in the fallout 4 steam folders which created this error.simply reinstalling the creation kit and manually placing in the steam/.../fallout 4 directory fixed the issue for me.thanks again,
