SirDanest
In light of mods like "build your own vault," I'd love to be able to make caves of the sort we saw in previous fallout games. Something like this: https://vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/fallout/images/3/34/CG_cave_interior.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20111207185341It's probably too much work for something so unimportant, but hey, I can dream. damanding
All of the cave pieces are invisible on the back side, plus many are not really shaped in the right way to look natural from the outside even if they were textured on both sides. So basically someone would have to create most of the pieces from scratch in 3ds Max or significantly alter the existing ones.
SirDanest
If it's built right you'd never see them from the outside,in an internal build zone.

With Place Anywhere you could cover the outside with large rocks and such from other mods anyway. I like this idea.
matttighe15
It would probably be a lot easier for you to take up modding yourself than for someone to lay groundwork for a cave system
SirDanest
I feel like it seems like I'm breaking an unwritten rule here when I post here sometimes, as if it's rude to make mod requests. I don't know if I'm imagining it, it's hard to tell in text sometimes. But I know sometimes the fans of mods can come off as pushy.But... requests are the point of this sub-forum. Still, I don't want to come across as bossy or entitled. It's also useful here because sometimes someone will say "Yeah, I'm working on (a cave mod for instance)" or "yeah, this or that mod does that already." I literally mean it would probably be easier for you to just mod your own caves one at a time how you want them, than for someone to try to structure and code an entire game mechanic based around digging out custom caves. I honestly cannot even conceive how to start making this type of system. Theres only one game ever (aside from minecraft and others like it) that have diggable worlds :7 days to die. And they did this by literally filling the world chunk by chunk with dirt that could be removed, and it still was a huge coding project that took forever. And the game is in perpetual alpha as well

You could probably just look up how to mod your own vault settlements and just do that, same thing basically.

And the game is in perpetual alpha as wellI'm reasonably sure he's not asking to dig out pieces of the terrain. He's asking for settlement pieces made out of the cave tiles so he can snap them together into a custom cave. You know, like the Build Your Own Vault mod does with vault tiles, but with the underground ones. All that really requires (potentially, I don't recall if F4 has a decent cave set) is adding nodes to some existing tiles and adding them to the settlement menu. A very realistic project for someone with the know-how. Edited January 13, 2018 by jkruse05

Because what you think he wants is basically just retextured wall peices, and what i think he wants is an entirely new game mechanic. Sounds like OP needs to get his s#*! together and clarify what he wants before anyone tries to take up building a mod for him.
