Buildable caves like those of previous fallout games

I'm reasonably sure he's not asking to dig out pieces of the terrain. He's asking for settlement pieces made out of the cave tiles so he can snap them together into a custom cave. You know, like the Build Your Own Vault mod does with vault tiles, but with the underground ones. All that really requires (potentially, I don't recall if F4 has a decent cave set) is adding nodes to some existing tiles and adding them to the settlement menu. A very realistic project for someone with the know-how.

So, no one is 100% sure what hes actually asking for? Because what you think he wants is basically just retextured wall peices, and what i think he wants is an entirely new game mechanic. Sounds like OP needs to get his s*** together and clarify what he wants before anyone tries to take up building a mod for him.

Considering the sources he referenced, the mod "Build your own vault" and the screenshot of a cave using tiles from Fallout 3 or NV, I think he meant tiles.

Well, we shouldnt have to play a guessing game about it. Not posting vague or confusing topics is literally in the stickied "dont bump" list of rules. So i say we let this thread die for exactly that reason until OP clarifies what he wants

This thread has become much more tense than I intended.
I'd just like the ability to build caves. I may end up looking into doing it myself but I thought I'd check here first. I didn't know the subject was going to become as complicated as it has become.
We can shacks, houses, vaults with steel vault walls, junk walls, brick walls, etc. But we can't, to my knowledge, work with natural cave stone walls, stalactites, etc. So if we build underground, we have to use steel/wooden walls or something, rather than natural cave walls that we might conceivably find underground. We can't yet build anything remotely like the picture I posted, like the caves we would find in other fallout games. As far as I know.

We arent being tense, we are just confused

There you go, thats all the qualification we need. You just want a wall reskin that looks like rock/cave/dirt/ect. Thats WAYYYY easier than what i thought you wanted. You could definitely do it yourself if you want, but I'm sure someone would be happy to do it for you, all it is is recoloring an existing mesh. Jkruse can help, he was the one who knew what you wanted from the getgo, i was wrong
