Stupid NMM + BOSS question

Okay, this is dumb, but I couldn't find an answer on the NMM wiki. I have BOSS installed as part of NMM and I'm wondering how that works. I'm accustomed to running BOSS as a separate thing. Will my load order be sorted out automatically in NMM now, or is there something I need to do to run BOSS from inside NMM? If it's automatic, do newly activated mods get sorted correctly into the LO when I activate them, or do I need to close and reopen NMM after installing a new mod in order to make BOSS put it in the right spot? I believe that while NMM downloads the BOSS masterlist, it isn't actually running BOSS, nor using the list and doing the ordering. (Yet. It is being worked on, as I understand it. All of this is WIP.)

Best to run BOSS 2.0 after NMM. (If you get any unrecognized plugins, they can be reported to the current BOSS thread on the BethSoft forums "http://forums.bethsoft.com/forum/183-skyrim-mods/", to get them added to the masterlist.)

That's my best understanding of the current state. (This is, of course, subject to change with any updates, and subject to correction by anyone more knowledgeable.)

not a stupid question at all, i'm equally confused.

so if i have BOSS and NMM i do:

1) start NMM to install mods

2) close NMM

3) start BOSS to re-sort my load order

4) close BOSS

5) start Skyrim

?

You pretty much have it. A couple of suggestions, if I may:

After step 3, examine the BOSS log. If there are any unrecognized mods, those will need to be manually sorted, or you can use BOSS (the GUI version) to add some sorting rules for them. (I always try to report the unrecognized mods to the current BOSS thread, in the Mods section, of the BethSoft Forums. The good people behind BOSS are constantly updating the masterlist with the new mods as people report them.) If you add or change a rule, re-run BOSS.

Optional between steps 4 and 5, if you have any unrecognized mods that you are going to manually order, NMM does a good job of manual ordering. Also good to keep in mind if you find any mods that you know need to be ordered differently than BOSS (rare, but it happens until it's reported).

Otherwise, happy gaming!

Hey I know this is old but I was just wandering, NMM doesnt change my LO at all! Whether manual installation or download via manager, it always puts it at the bottom. Is this how its meant to work?
