CanadamusPrime
I've seen a number of Mods that add Final Fantasy swords and Lord of the Rings swords and Zelda swords/items, and while these are all awesome, one I've never seen anyone make is a Mod that adds any swords or items from the Dragon Quest series. Like maybe the Dragovian King Sword or the Zenithian Sword or even Erdrick's Sword. These are just suggestions, the series has a whole multitude of swords and other weapons that I'd love to see brought into Skyrim over it's nine main games and various spin-offs. EDIT: If anyone is willing to take on this request, do let me know. EDIT 2 (04/04/12): No fans of the Dragon Quest/Warrior series here, eh? Oh well... Xenogeist
I would love to see the Zenithian sword in game. The Zenithian armor and shield are also pretty cool looking but the sword is epic and I've been thinking about including it in a player home that has a sword in the stone style quest that I've been working on. The problem is that I have zero experience with the programs used to make the models. I would love it if someone would pick up this project. Here are some pictures of what I'm talking about. The sword. It's proportions are off but you get the idea:http://img138.imageshack.us/img138/7532/zenithiansword.png Detail of the hilt with more realistic proportions:http://img96.imageshack.us/img96/2193/dw4nesfront.jpg The armor:http://img571.imageshack.us/img571/9079/zenithianarmor.png The shield:http://img23.imageshack.us/img23/7990/zenithianshield.pngThat is actually a dragon head sticking out of the shield. That could probably be left out for convenience' sake. Edited May 2, 2012 by Xenogeist

Anyway, your project sounds great, and I'd love to help you out with it, Unfortunately my 3D modeling experience is very limited and if I tried it'd probably end up looking like ass.Still I'd love to see the Zenithian set in the game. orindoomhammer
I don't have skyrim for the pc(YET) but that hasn't stopped me from working on this very thing. Up to recently i have yet to find a good 3d version of the zenithian sword but i have a version of it i have been working on for a bit just needs texturing it isn't exactly 100% accurate as all i had to go off of is the box art I may at some point re model the blade to look accurate or i may not haven't decided yet as its not that complex a piece the hilt and guard were pretty interesting to work on. Here is a little shot of my virsion of the sword i will be making the whole armor set when i get there and actually have the game mean while i am waiting to get the pc version of skyrim i was contemplating putting it into New Vegas as i do have that game and enjoy it. but it fits better in skyrim. that and its helping me relearn how to mod for the engine as for some reason Bethesda cant take a hint and move to FBX for meshes I Utterly hate the workflow for their engines. http://imgur.com/F4tsu as you can clearly see it is still in the texture process and needs tons of work but I am getting there. I do have one criticism though. I don't think the sword is supposed to have a curved tipped blade, at least not according to this pic here:http://img138.imageshack.us/img138/7532/zenithiansword.png Keep at it though, I look forward to the finished product. Abraxastaroth
Yeah! Dragon Quest swords would be nice. Honestly, I'd love to generally see more DQ fans making mods for this game. How about Roto's sword from the first three games? That one had a pretty nice and classic look to it, from what I recall.

Do you mean Erdrick's Sword? http://i410.photobucket.com/albums/pp183/canadiansaiyan/erdricks_sword.png Yeah yeah, I know it's the same thing. Right, "Erdrick's Sword" being the name that it was given when they changed the name of the Legendary Hero in those early Dragon Warrior translations (although I hear they changed it back to Roto/Loto or something like that in the more recent re-releases for Gameboy). Either way... that picture you put there is also really Americanized or changed from the original iconic design. The whole set of Roto's Armor, Shield, Helmet, and Sword had a very unique look based off the "Crest of Roto" (ロトの紋章) design. Here's an image I found online of a cool set of collectables based on all the vestments and crest of the hero: http://i231.photobucket.com/albums/ee149/michaeleleng/armor1.jpg Also another image of a replica of the sword that totally gets the spirit of the original right, imo: http://blog-imgs-56.fc2.com/k/o/u/kouboumirage/IMG_20120714_123629_convert_20120716143257.jpg Edited August 19, 2012 by Abraxastaroth

I knew about the name changes, but I didn't know there were design differences too. I just did a Google image search and it came up with several different looking swords so I picked the one that I thought was the clearest image. Of course I searched "Erdrick's Sword" and not "Roto's Sword" so that probably made a difference.

I think it's less of there being official design differences but, in the case of the English localization, they didn't really think much about sticking to a set design and took liberties with the art they created for it over here. Seems like often a lot of art and designs of characters were changed willy nilly from the originals back then Americanizing them and going to lengths to make them look less "cartoonish"... sometimes to quite bemusing results (like the cover of the first Mega Man game for NES). And yeah... searching for "Roto's Sword" might help... or searching for 「ロトの剣」 can get even better ones.
