Citrus872
I've noticed that there are no real mission "collectathon" mods in Skyrim - specifically things like bounty hunting, monster hunting and similar - for example, something along the lines of the Fallout NV bounty hunting mods, hitman activity in Saints Row games, monster hunting in FFXII, and many others. There should be a system of getting such missions from either job notice boards in the game world, related guilds or organizations (bounty hunter guilds, hunting lodges, poacher camps etc), NPCs, or all three, and the player should always have "something to do" if there is nothing else they're currently engaged in. Here's the basic framework for a few: Bounty hunting: 1) Randomized missions that give you the crime the target is wanted for, dead or alive option, reward, description, and general location where the target was last seen. Possibility of ambush, target having guards, mercenaries or mark's buddies attacking you in attempt to free the mark or escape attempts by the mark (if wanted alive). Should be roughly level appropriate. 2) Fixed missions. Same as the above, but with unique marks, longer quests related to them (more investigation needed), and generally much harder. For this, there should be multiple tiers where you get a list of, for example, 12 marks, and you can't progress to the next list until the first 12 are dealt with. Not level scaled (fixed levels and stats). Monster hunting: 1) Randomized missions that give you general description of the problem (such as monster infestation in a particular place, a monster having swallowed a heirloom that must be recovered, and similar), reward, and general location where the monsters reside. Should be roughly level appropriate. 2) Fixed missions with unique/legendary monsters and much higher risk/reward. For this, there should be multiple tiers where you get a list of, for example, 12 monsters, and you can't progress to the next list until the first 12 are dealt with. Not level scaled (fixed levels and stats). Hunting/poaching: 1) Randomized missions that give you general description of the problem (such as culling the population in a specific forest, an animal infestation in a specific basement, an animal having run off with an important item, and similar), reward, and general location where the animals reside. Should be roughly level appropriate. 2) Fixed missions with unique/legendary beasts and much higher risk/reward. For this, there should be multiple tiers where you get a list of, for example, 12 named animals, and you can't progress to the next list until the first 12 are dealt with. Not level scaled (fixed levels and stats). Similar framework could be applied to various other types of missions such as: - courier missions and/or smuggling- thefts/infiltrations/spying- paid assassinations- mercenary work (escorts, participating in fights on the side that's paying you, debt collecting etc) The entire concept is meant to provide some variety to the usual world exploration and mindless slaughter, by giving the player character actual jobs and activities that fit their play style and character design. Randomized missions are mainly a source of money/loot and endless content, and fixed missions are a form of a "collectathon" - something with clearly defined checklists the player can slowly work towards filling throughout the course of the game. 62firelight
It is a really good idea, seeing as sometimes I don't want to do quests or explore, just want to go hunting and the only option for that is to go hunting down deer. I mainly love the idea of monster/animal hunting, for example you must kill a Legendary Beast like maybe a huge minotaur found at the end of a cave, or could be a troublesome (giant) mudcrab  I hope someone makes this, would be awesome when I get to play Skyrim for the PC. 0urher0nik0
this sounds like a great idea.Making a bounty board in pubs would work great for this.
Lokiron
Amazing how I haven't seen a billion of suggestions like this. It's such an obvious idea for a mod; because it's a good one! There is something serene about doing the adventurer's equivalent to labour and not always do world changing feats of a demigod :-P I wholeheartedly agree with the OP that random and fixed versions would both be great. Throw in item fetching / dungeon crawls and I think it's all covered. Edited March 29, 2012 by Lokiron

Drakescale
This is a nice idea. Bounty Hunter would certainly be a cool addition. At least it gives the dragonborn something to do with his powers aside from whacking dragons. :)
FuriousPolishGamer
This is exactly what I've been saying for the past year. I NEED a monster hunting mod.
