siskulous
Short version, I'm kinda wanting to play through the main storyline of Morrowind again. It's been a long time and it's a neat story. My question is whether it would be a better experience on Morroblivion (with or without additional mods) or on a heavily modded Morrowind. I'm really only interested in the main storyline, so any side quests that are still missing from Morroblivion wouldn't be an issue. Mostly I'm interested in which has better graphics and gameplay. I know the kneejerk answer is Morroblivion since it uses the newer Oblivion engine, but I've heard that modern modded Morrowind is pretty impressive. I'm curious which would be better. Moksha8088
Never played Morrowind. Morrowind looked nice in that Elder Scrolls Online game, unfortunately, the disqualifying line that would prevent me from ever trying it is online. Too bad the end product could not be Morrowrim SE. Gotta love the stability of the DX11 64-bit engine. BTW, has Morrowblivion been released?
siskulous
Never played Morrowind. Gotta love the stability of the DX11 64-bit engine. BTW, has Morrowblivion been released? I think you're confusing TES III: Morrowind - which came out around 2000 or 2002, is single player like Oblivion and Skyrim, and is what I'm talking about - with ESO: Morrowind, which just came out last year. I think technically Morrowblivion is one of those perpetual beta projects. If by "released" you mean it's available for public download and works, then yes. If by "released" you mean "has hit v1.0 and is considered ready for primetime by the team that made it" I don't think it ever will be. The last update is v0.64, and it was released in December 2014. I think - and I could be wrong since I don't follow their news all that close - that the team has moved on to Skywind. The main questlines for the main game and both Morrowind expansions are there supposedly, but it seems that the missing elements will stay missing. You'll never find it on the Nexus though. They had some legal issues at one point (now cleared up) that got them banished. You have to go looking for it.
wizardmirth
I remember playing TES 3 on Xbox One for the first time. Wow. Even PC modded Oblivion never quite made up for all the raw and awesome beauty of that game and world. Since then, I've played it modded on the PC in two separate installs with different mods at the time and they both looked great. I've not played Morroblivion - if its missing anything from the original then that would be a bit of a game breaker for me although I'd probably try it just to try it. Still, if I had to pick only one then I would go with tricking out the original game. Using a later engine might be good for some games, but Morrowind is rather special.
