ELIT3KILLAZ
I watched a tutorial on how to install blender, followed it to the best of my abilities, but when I try to import .NIF files into blender, It gives me a python error. The Traceback error given is Traceback (most recent call last): File "<string>", line 1, in <module> File "C:\Program Files (x86)\Blender Foundation\Blender\.blender\scripts\export\export_nif.py", line 22, in <module> from nif_common import NifImportExport File "C:\Program Files (x86)\Blender Foundation\Blender\nif_common.py", line 5SyntaxError: Non-ASCII character '\xc2' in file C:\Program Files (x86)\Blender Foundation\Blender\nif_common.py on line 5, but no encoding declared; see http://www.python.org/peps/pep-0263.html for details No clue what I did wrong, and a google search came up empty. That html doesn't particularly help either. Any Suggestions?
M48A5
Program Files is under the control of Windows User Account Control, which does not allow you to make any changes to the files installed there. Uninstall Blender, PyFFI, NifScripts, Python and Nifskope and reinstall them in a location other than Program Files. I have Blender, PyFFI, NifScripts, Python and NifSkope all installed at C: in the respective folders. You should also see the article at Steam on how to move Steam and all yours game out of Program Files. Which version of Blender are you using? I have not heard if Nifskope and Nifscripts have been updated to work with any version of Blender after 2.49. ELIT3KILLAZ
Im using 2.49b which I thought should work, and I have steam moved onto my F drive, so its not even in my SSD. I'll reinstall everything onto the F drive then, see if that fixes it
