Whenever I get close enough to the 188 Trading Outpost, my game freezes and then crashes.

Nothing obvious to me. At 123 plugins, you should be well under your "plugin cap".

If it's not something covered in the 'Solutions to "Crash To Desktop" (CTD) problems' section in the wiki "Fallout NV Mod Conflict Troubleshooting" guide, then it's a mod conflict. In which case you will need to see and follow the steps in the 'Mod Conflict Isolation' section.

Hm.

I'm going to rebuild my merged patch, and avoid the area- apparently one of the official patches can cause a bug that makes the crash happen.

The NVAC error "C0000417" is a "Buffer Overflow Exception" (BEX) error. It is indicating the problem lies with FalloutNV.exe. There should be a related Windows Eventlog error entry as well under either the "System" or "Application" filter, which might provide more information such as pointing to the C++ library. Please see the "Windows Error Messages" section of the wiki "How to read most Bethesda game error logs" article. (The "script 'Expression Error: SYNTAX' (40075B4A)" messages are non-fatal and common.)

What version of Windows are you running? Assuming it is Win10, then please see the 'Issue: NVSE - fails to load after update KB4058043 to Win10 FCU (v1709)' entry in the wiki "Fallout NV Mod Conflict Troubleshooting" guide, where it talks about configuring for an application in the "Windows Defender Exploit Guard (WDEG)".

Re: reported bug in the area of 188. I believe that issue is resolved in YUP. Any way, I don't have it so recommend you keep looking for a solution. You can't meet Veronica unless you go to the 188 Trading Post.

I checked the NVSE log, the problem described in that link hasn't shown up.

Well, that confirms what NVAC reported, but gets us no closer to a solution.

Have you implemented the "heap size" changes under the 'Solutions to "Crash To Desktop" (CTD) problems' section in the wiki "Fallout NV Mod Conflict Troubleshooting" guide? BEX is a "heap size" problem.

-Dubious-

I just did. I'm also going to delete the EXE and let Steam verify my game cache. That might fix it. Will edit with results.

Nope. Still broken.
