Triforce1
So I take it you already have the texture you want to use, yes? Well, do you want this to be a unique item, or alter all instances of the base .nif? Either way, place the texture and a normal map (can be made in PhotoShop and the GIMP, and i guess others; denoted as filename_n), and a glow map if you want it, under Data/Textures/YourName. When making icons, however, they need to go under Data/Textures/Menus/YourName. Then, open up the .nif you want to use. Find the little purple flower down the list and click it. Then, find your texture in the Data folder you placed it in. Click Okay, and the model will then have your texture on it. Then, click Save As and name it something descriptive, and save it under Data/Meshes/YourName. If it is an object that looks different when dropped, like armor, then you will need to apply that same new texture to those .nifs as well (denoted by filename_gnd, usually). Then, in the CS, find the type of item you want to make, expand it far enough so that something displays on the righthand list. Scroll over there, right click, then choose new. Set things how you want, then choose the appropriate .nifs in the "Choose" block(s) on the left. With custom icons, you'll need to choose a texture instead. **Note: When you go to choose the file you want, the folder that opens up is the farthest back out you will be allowed to go. You must pick from one of the visible subfolders (if you did as above, there shouldbe no problems), or it won't work. Same with icons going in the "Menus" folder FIRST before your name folder.
