Willardan
I've got an annoying screen freeze when travelling in Skyrim (and in cities). I have the newest patch and ENB graphics mod (the enhanced shaders one). But when I run the game without the mod Skyrim seems to freeze less. Any suggestions how to fix it? The fix mod, setting the sound, disabling the VSync etc. don't help. I usually have 25 FPS and above. I don't use the antialiasing. My hardware in my notebook is:Intel Core i5 2.53 GHz8 GB RAMGeForce 425MAny suggestions how to fix it? Or shouldn't I use the graphic mods in notebook? mindflux
With freeze, do you mean the game crashes completely and you have to reboot or kill the process? Is it possible that your notebook is overheating?
Willardan
I mean the game stopps for a few seconds regularly (audio performs, video doesn't).I don't think so. It is quite hot but before installing the mods and patch it was the same and there wasn't any freezes.
Basil_oz
I run Skyrim on a notebook which has plenty of grunt to run the game but it overheats like hell! High-end notebooks have the grunt but just can't get the heat away that graphic-intense games generate. My rig used to just shut down. Anyway, I now pack a flat icepack (wrapped in a hankderchief to absorb any condensation) under the CPU/graphics area of my notebook (you can easily find it... it's the part that's glowing red from heat after 10 minutes of playing Skyrim) and I have had no issue, with the rig remaining cool throughout. Just make sure that there are no vents directly on the icepack which might allow moisture to enter your rig. It's a bit archaic, however it's an effective heat venting system. It could be worth a shot to see if your hangs are heat related.
Willardan
Very ingenious, but doesn't help. But I think I've just solved the problem. Strange, but when I play Skyrim with my old character (i played him before i installed the mod) game hangs a lot. I just started Skyrim with a new character and the game stopped freezing. What is more, I downloaded a new one form the Internet and it also doesn't hangs. So I think I'll just play another character and then modify it via console. Anyway, thanks for the help :)
