Quarian looked with desperation to Akechi, and held his bleeding shoulder.

"I need pressure..." he said with effort. he felt weak, he was beggining to go into shock.

Quarian's eyes began to close, but he fought to keep them open, he fought a losing battle...

suddenly he felt strength as he peered up into the sky. A barrage of flaming debris were soaring through the air in an arc that would bring them to rest on the other side of the city. The mercanaries looked from the gathering invaders to a new force, which was marching through the burning city. A resistance!

After the second wave of arrows, Akechi let his arrow loose at the nearest archer, the same that had wounded Quarain. Looking over at him, he saw him bleeding heavily. Akechi quickly tore a strip around the bottom of his tunic and wrapped Quarain's bloody shoulder up. He then half-carried, half-dragged him over behind a wall that would be safe from arrow fire. Pressing firmly on the wound, he saw Quarain wince in pain.

"I can imagine how much this hurts, but you must stand fast. I will not lose you Quarain."

Several miles outside the city, Alenee found the first group of her soldiers. Without bothering to get off her horse, she yelled down to them "The Imperial City is under attack! New invaders, they came out of nowhere! Go now, as fast as you can. I'll gather the others, but it'll take time!" Without waiting for a response, she disappears again into the night. Behind her, the soldiers gather their weapons and run for their horses.

The defence had finnaly arrived, through the same passage the invaders had came through. More and more of the defence arrived, they streamed in through the river valley. suddenly Alenee notices a comotion around her. Fighting was erupting in small pockets, a garrison.

Quarian drew his broad sword without thinking, it had semmed a good idea but his grip gave way, almost embarresed despite his condition he let his head fall back and he closed his eyes to rest.

*See the sign up sheet for the map, you can see the river valley there.

Knowing that she's making a big mistake, Armiena slowly turns over her belt to reveal the emblem of Galor, a symbol that is put on every soldier's uniform.

"I used to be in the Legion. I was allowed to keep the belt when I was discharged." She doesn't need to say 'as a reminder of the glory I could have won had I been a good soldier'. Still, the Legionnaire is too pumped with adrenaline for thought, and seems to grow with rage.

"So..... You're a TRAITOR to your EMPIRE!!!!!" the trooper yells, redfaced. He backhands her with his free hand across the face, and her belt flies from her grip and lands in the dirt about 5 feet away. Armiena is knocked to the ground, and the trooper raises his sword above his head in fury, ready to chop her through the middle.

Armiena looks desperately for her dagger, hoping she's still carrying it on her body.

The red face is soon a memory in Armiena's mind, the head slumped back on its broken neck.

"amazing what a well placed arrow can do," a mercanary says, offering his hand to Armiena as the lifeless body of the soldier falls to the ground. "Your friends are inside the city, looking for you. one of them is injured."

About 2 seconds before the soldier died:

Armiena finds her dagger tucked in her boot, and pulls it out, knowing that she's about to be split in the middle before she can even unsheathe it. She hears a rush of air, and an arrow protudes from the soldier's throat.

"Amazing what a well placed arrow can do, your friends are inside the city, looking for you. one of them is injured."

Armiena takes his hand, and realizes she's shaking from adrenaline letdown. "W..who are you?" she says to him as she tucks her dagger back in her boot and sets off at a fast walk to the city.

"I am a peasant, my father was murdered after he failed to pay his taxes one week," he says as he leads Armiena into the city.

As they round a corner Armiena sees that Quarian was the injured friend he had refered to, a troop of well armed and organized men were lining up near him, preparing for the advancing line of invaders...

After being covered by the reinforcements, Akechi went to check on Quarain.

"The bleeding seems to have almost stopped," Akechi said, "but we'll need to change these 'bandages' soon. How are you feeling Quarain?" He asked.

When Akechi sees Armiena he greets her excitedly, "Hello there! I'm glad to see you're still with us!"

Akechi chuckles slightly. :bleh:
