MDRud216
ooc: this partnering thing won't be for very long, and I am planning on doing a "3 weeks later" thing in a while to speed this up, but not until everything is set up. If you have anything to say post in the sign up thread. Now back to our show... ^_^ Imperial Fortress, the battlements Two heavily armored warriors stood atop the stone wall. They gaurded the lever which would open the only gate into this part of the city, behind them the Grand Fortress of the Evil Emperor loomed. "Lately there have been a few dissapearences, two soldiers I believe," one said."Nothing to worry about, two soldiers have the same worth as a sack of grain to Emperor Darel.""And that dose not concern you? We are two soldiers."Just as the second soldier prepared to respond a messenger popped open the gatehouse tower door, and said: "Open the gates, a host set's out for the hills in search of Gavian Sorullis, where he was last called to." The two soldiers heaved on the lever together until a metalic clank echoed from under them and the huge iron gate raised up above them through a large sllit in the top of the battlements. The sounds of galloping filled the air and along the main road women, children and merchants ran about in confusion, eventully finding alleys and other places to hide as the horses charged past. Heading for the hills.
Peregrine
"I'll watch your back while you stir up some trouble," Alenee said, retying the laces on her leather bracers. "Just let me find somewhere to shoot from and I'll give you covering fire if things get ugly. But we'd better hurry, I want to get a good look around under cover of darkness before we go in." She picked up her pike from the ground, slinging it's carrying strap across her back. While she waited for the other two to collect their equipment, she drew back an arrow and took careful aim at a tree about 100 yards away. The points on the new arrows she carried were ideal for piercing even plate armor, but their accuracy remained untested. With a hopeful thought, she released the arrow, then smiled a bit as it hit almost exactly where she had aimed. She turned to her companions and pointed at the distant tree. "I seem to remember how to use this thing..." When she reached the target, Alenee saw that her arrows' power was up to expected standards as well. The arrow had penetrated several inches into the solid wood, splintering and nearly cutting through it. As she pulled it out of the tree, a satisfying image of the arrow in an Imperial's head flashed through her mind. But she dismissed it in favor of more immediate concerns, and began walking back to her companions, who by now appeared ready to leave.
MDRud216
Quarian caught up to Alenee, a gesture that they were leaving. For now they traveled together, it was 7 miles back to the city, and by the time they arrived the taverns would be nearly full. As they walked, the five socilized, almost relaxed despite the occasional reference to the task on hand. suddenly Quarian halted, in the woods a few feet off the road there was a large carcass, a horse, and beyond that three wolves were huddled around something else...a human corpse. Quarian whispers to Alenee: "take them out, wolves are vicious around a meal..."
Breton Thief Oriana
"Let my team leave now, Quarian. I know a shortcut, and corpses aren't really very apatizing on an impending mission. I may loose concentration." The two began towards a log on the river heading south. Kataiyo paddled with his hands at first and smaller floating logs afterwards. They rafted it into the perimiter of the town, then headed on the road the remaining 3 miles, briskly walking. Kataiyo led his companion south in town towards the dojo. Once there, he said to Akechi "When we enter, I want you to try unarmed training with some of the basic fighters here. See if you can learn something, it might take me a while." They entered the school. Immediatly the sensei halted training with a wave of his hand. Kataiyo approached him, bowed and spoke to him. "We are spreading a word of revolution against the neo-imperialist army. I was sure that you would aid us in are cause, as you are wise in sensing turmoil and corruption. That as well as the fact that you are like a father to me, master Kiriashi." The sensei replied to him, "Young apprentice, first-degree Kataiyo, I have not seen you here two days. As of this moment, we should talk of things that happened. Then, I will try to aid you as best I can." Kataiyo and Kiriashi talkedfor a while. "I heard that you defeated my son in a street fight two days ago," Kiriashi said, "He has slightly improved in discipline since then. I am glad that you appliad your studies of a bond of clan, and that you did not hurt him too badly. You realize that you reached first-degree faster than any of my other students? It is quite remarkable, I might add, as the Tora Fist teachings are a difficult school of Martial Arts. Prove yourself against my second-degree student, Lyari, the orphen I took in. She has been training with me and my son since the opening of the school. If you best her in a sparring match, I will not only aid you in your cause, but also give you the Third-Degree bandanna. Eventually, at the rate I think you are going, you will have enough training to become a master yourself." "Master Kiriashi, I accept your challange, for in your devine wisdom you have a prize worthy of an adept, disciplined fighter such as I."
ObsidianKnight
"Right." Armiena heads off towards the Imperial City. She avoids the roads for the most part. By the time she reaches the city, the sun is setting. She approaches a guardhouse, and notes with satisfaction that the "Wanted" posters on her head have been removed. Apparently the Imperial guard she had met while fleeing lied, and said he had killed her. She tries to avoid eye contact with the guards, though one peers at her face, with a "I could have SWORN I've seen her before." She gets a sense that his are following him as she continues. She turns, and the guard quickly returns to his post. He looks rather embarrassed. Armiena tries to suppress a grin, and heads for her house, near the city's main gate. ensis
OOC: Just reserving my post place, I have to go to work. I will post as soon as I get home from work (around 7:30 PM CST). While waiting for Kataiyo and his master to finish their discussion, Akechi chose a fairly senior student out of the group. Akechi introduced himself and asked the students name. "My name is Braden Grattus, what can I do for you?" the student answered. "Nice to meet you Braden, I was wondering if perhaps we could spar, and you teach me a few things while we're at it." Akechi responded to Braden's question. "It would be a pleasure and honor to teach you, for you and Kataiyo seem to be close allies." Braden said. "Well let's get started right away then!" Akechi exclaimed. Akechi took off his gear so he could move more freely in his clothes. After bowing and starting the match, Akechi was quickly taken off guard and thrown to the ground. Not to be bested so easily, he used his falling momentum to throw his legs over his head and get himself onto his feet again. Akechi put extra concentration into this battle, for he needed desparately to become better. Both fighters got good hits in, and after the match was over, Braden showed Akechi a few pointers to get his fighting into a better state. When they sparred for a second time, Akechi performed much better and won in the end. "You are a very capable fighter, you should visit the dojo more often! Thank you for sparring with me." Braden said to Akechi, while bowing. Akechi bowed back, "It was great fighting you, thank you for showing me how to improve my stance and strength. I hope we can do it again." ObsidianKnight
ooc: oops sorry! Armiena reaches her home, to find the door boarded up. She tries to kick in the door, but it holds firm. Fortunately, the window is NOT boarded up. "I'm gonna regret this...." she mutters to herself. She takes a couple of steps back, gauges the distance she has to roll in, and jumps through the glass. She rolls mid-air, slicing up her back, but the glass draws only a little blood. She rushes around the house, and grabs her wooden and her steel broadsword. She also takes her set of leather armor and a fresh set of clothing. Armiena jumps back through the shattered window and heads for the Five Horse Tavern. Minutes later, the Imperials arrive at her house, investigating a disturbance.

Ensis needs to edit his post eventually and peregrine needs to post in answer to my earlier post... but it is okay, cause i have been absent for a few days also. ooc: Peregrine I am gonna make an action for your person, it is not much but is vital for the plot i am trying to set up. Alenee drew back her bowstring and fired a powerful shot into one of the wolves shoulders, the others fled at the site of their dieing comrad. Qaurian steped up to the body, partially mutalated by the carnivores. Kneeling down Quarian found a small letter, it had his identification clearly written. "this man was a champion of Emperor Darel, Gavian Sorullis. They will be looking for him."
Peregrine
<ooc: oops> "They?" Alenee replied, another arrow drawn and following the fleeing wolves. Finally, as they disappeared deep into the forest, she turned back to Quarian. "Patrols are only going to make things worse, you know... Are you sure you still want to do this recruiting mission of yours?"
MDRud216
"I don't know, I am a little bit curious of what could bring down an Imperial champion. His weapon is not even drawn..." Quarian's voice trailed off, as he turned to look at the huge body of the fallen warhorse a few meters behind. It's body seemed a bit decomposed, more so than the human corpse. Then Quarian saw it, and was embarresed that it did not show itself to him sooner. It was a single arrow, thrust deep into the neck of the horse. He wondered if Alenee had seen it before, but did not say anything, to see how long it would take himself. The shaft of the arrow was smooth, made with great care, not crude at all, and definatly not of *Galoric style. Quarian thought of the possibilitys, to him it looked like an assanation."Alenee, this could be in our favor. If there are assasins in the capital city." Quarian gestured to them and they continued toward the city, walking parrallel to the road, hidden by the thick underbrush. When they emerged on to the ridge which marked the end of the Rakatal hills the farmland was spread out before them. The Rakatal river silently slithered through the valley and near the center the Tower Balenser's becons were lit. They glimmered on the surrounding river. Off to the left a spot of firelight moved quickly across the valley. It was a small host of Imperial Calvery. The three had reached the heart of the farmland, it was silent and dark. One would never had guessed that the city was just beyond the next field. There was a rustly in the wheat somewhere off the road, and what sounded like the drawing of some blade, but they were not bothered and the sounds were not heard again. it seemed to have dissapeared up ahead of them. The first tavern door was thrown open by Quarian, "let's split up, gather as many of these drunks as you can. Soon we will have a few more people on our side." They dissapeared into the croud at three diferent spots, they targeted tough looking men, but it was know that nobody wanted this new Emperor to reign any longer.
