Muncywolverine
I am having this issue with one of my characters. The most recent save file was 34 mb. My other characters I have played longer and have no more than 11mb. Here is what I have tried:Deleting my script folder Skyrim Unofficial Patch 1.1No possessive corpses Savegame scanner (I have no idea what any of that data means) Rest for 31 days (Shrunk file from 34 to 31 but still get stutters) None of these have worked for my game. Did I miss something to try? Is there anything else? Almost thinking of making this character over with all the same items and stats (is there any easy way to do that? Probably a question for another topic). Deleting enhanced blood textures fixed it for me.

Would be nice if anyone found something to make it even less ^^ @Edit2Solved problem seems mod Sounds Of Skyrim bloat ur save file after you uninstall it. Just picked save file before i uninstalled it and it's fine.Sounds Of Skyrim topic Edited August 23, 2012 by Jonxx
MaegDin
I had the same issue (sudden FPS drop to 1-2, then back to normal).I uninstalled/re-installed few mods, nothing changed.I noticed my saved games (\Documents\my games\skyrim\saves) started to expand dramatically a few saves ago (from 8MB to 24MB, whereas these saves were in the same place, so no reason they expand like this).I reloaded the game before they began to expand, now I don't have this issue anymore.I guess some mods created this issues, but even uninstalled, the issue remained UNTIL I go back to my 8MB saved game. CONCLUSION: mods can corrupt saves, and the corruption can remain even if the mod is un-installed. SOLUTION: un-install suspicious mods, and go back to your "normal" size save. EDIT: I did not install "Sounds of Skyrim" mod. EDIT 2: I think the "aMidianBorn Hide and Studded Hide" mod was responsible. Deleted4547977User
@MaegDin-that mod is retexture, will not corrupt your save file-only mod with .esp and script can bloat your file save (if that mod is have a bad scripting)

Imperialvodka
Sorry for sounding a sceptic about blaming mods but ive played this game without this issue for a year now (with a ton of mods), and its only since the last update ive had this issue. Its easy to blame mods but so many are being blamed, perhaps its the patches that have caused mods to *bleed*. Therefore look at the problem (patch) and ask why it happened. The Game for me is unplayable - pausing for 4 seconds every minute and massive saves. Its not the mods that are infecting the game its what the patch did to infect the mods. axelalexa
My game became unplayable yesterday, and I found out my recent saves had become 160 mb. I can see the bloating started the same day I bought Hearthfire (28th Nov); I'm not sure if I would have had an update the same day? Anyway I tried the 31 day wait and clearing the scripts folder (though mine was almost empty) as I was desperate not to lose my 200hr game progress. Well I am happy with the results. The save reduced to 48 mb and the speed of movement seems crazy fast! And every save since is getting smaller, now 43 mb. I know it could be better; I am still getting the occasional freezes (at 160 mb it was occasional game play inbetween the long freezes) - but it is now playable and I can continue the story. Thanks :)

axelalexa
It seems to be fine without the scripts folder somehow! My saves are now down to 36mb
