Hair Texture problem

Hi guys. So, i was trying to make some hair for FNV, but although the meshes works perfectly, the textures appears all screwed up. I mean, on nifskope seems everything fine, but then in game textures doesn't show correctly. I used the standard procedure for also body meshes, changing of course the settings of nifplugin (i use 3ds max). I haven't create the egm/egt files, but if i understand correctly, they're needed only for making the "with hat" version and the "facefx" version.. So.. Isn't that maybe someone knows what i'm doing wrong?

Yup. That helps, thank you. I mean, i had to randomly click different settings trying to emulate the blender ones, but in the end, i think it was one that exported the nif files as nitristrips, instead nitrishape. Just a guess though, since i changed many other settings around.

You are correct that the egm files have nothing to do with your issue. Sounds like you've got your textures all sorted out, so that's good.

Egm files are for morphing your hair to fit varying heads. If you don't have an egm file then your hair will still work, but it won't morph. Depending on how closely your hair fits to the skull, you could end up with clipping for different skull shapes. In other words, if the player or the NPC has a big forehead, the forehead might pop through your hair.

It goes the other way as well. If there's no egm and the hair was designed for a big skull, if the player has a small forehead there may be a gap between the hair and the head.

With a properly created egm, the hair will morph along with the skull and the forehead is no longer in danger of popping through the hair. The hair will get bigger and smaller as you make the forehead bigger and smaller, and the hair will get wider and thinner as you make the head wider and thinner.

Some hairstyles are so poofy that you really don't need to worry about an egm.

True, as matter of fact, one of the two i tried was too small on the back side (i adjusted with a vanilla no morphed head) and then on game a small part of the back head clips. But no big deal, that's something can be fixed in the old way in anycase.
