peterpigmans
so I'm definitely not super computer savvy, the only games I've ever modded have been the sims if that says anything, so chances are I'm doing something wrong or totally missing something but I bought skyrim special edition a few days ago, finally played it but noticed 1) my mouse is responding about 500 milliseconds after actually commanding my character to move in any direction, and its even worse when I move the camera in first person and its even WORSE while in battle to the point it's almost dizzying to play the game (since I don't have a mouse and using a trackpad is pretty much out of the question for me, I opted to use my xbox one controller connected via USB, and yes I did calibrate it, but using the trackpad and keyboard gives the same laggy result anyway), and 2) my FPS is crap. i'm not sure if the mouse lag has anything to do with that (it probably does) but it wasn't terrible before downloading any optimization mods (which I'll list in a bit) but after downloading beth.ini my FPS was horrible, so I turned on the FPS counter and it wasn't 40 or even 20, it was 12 and this was after I turned off anti-aliasing, Vsync, turned my lock sensitivity as low as it could go since the lag is even worse when its on medium or high, messed around with the lock frame rate, had presets set to medium, then set to high, before doing all of this it was even worse. anyways here are the mods I've installed: No More Radial Blur: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/77791/Simply Optimized Textures for SSE: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/3858/and finally beth.ini: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/69787/ and my system specs: https://www.cnet.com/products/dell-inspiron-5559-15-6-core-i7-6500u-8-gb-ram-1-tb-hdd-english/specs/ I know skyrim is definitely on the more intensive side for someone's computer but with my laptop being mid-range, it should at least be able to handle it pretty well. I don't need a full 60 FPS, and honestly I'm not sure with my current system that I'll even be able to get there, but I shouldn't be at 12 FPS, and right now my game quite frankly is unplayable and I really wanna find a fix for this or else I'm worried $40 is gone. Jannifer
If you are running SkyrimLE, then you shouldn't be using a mod written for SSE, and vice versa. So, the first thing you need to do is get rid of whichever mod, Optimized Textures or No More Radial Blur, which doesn't match the game version you're running. If you are running SSE, then BethINI is not going to be suitable for your install. I would suggest reverting to vanilla .ini files by deleting the ones you currently have. Remember that the .ini you need to delete are in Documents\My Games\Skyrim or Skyrim Special Edition, not the ones in the game's installation folder. Then, load the game from the vanilla loader without SKSE or NMM. The game will generate new .ini files. I have found it best not to edit .ini files unless you know exactly what you're doing and why, even if you have a utility which is supposed to help you. Not every .ini edit is going to work for every possible mod configuration and hardware setup out there. I would also consider sticking with just the controller or just trackpad and keyboard. It could be that the multiple input devices are confusing the issue. Good luck!

Good luck!I uninstalled optimized textures, turned off anti aliasing, turned off godrays, lowered shadows, no detail is on high, they're all either on low, medium, or off. I close out of all applications before playing and still, it's not going above 12. I have no idea what to do at this point, and I'm not convinced my computer is that bad that I can't even get to 20 FPS but I feel like I'm playing on an eMachines laptop, I really have no idea what to do at this point. chris270613
I have been following this Topic for the Past 2 Days,as my Frame Rate suddenly Dropped DOWN from 60 to 2,rendering the Game Unplayable..This Started after I had Upgraded my GPU Driver from 17.12.1 to 18.2.1 (AMD) OR So I Thought..I even Changed from my External GPU of RX 480 8Gb,to the Internal R9 370 4GB..I had Installed a Follower MOD and that RAN Perfectly, but for Some Unexplainable (Health Related) Reason I Uninstalled it..I have Followed Many People's Advice to Others on What could Cause a Dramatic LOSS in FPS and Nothing Worked for ME..This Morning I Decided to Check my Installed MODS after Reading (on Here) that One Or More could be the Culprit AND I have Found Out just what the Problem was..For Some Unknown Reason 2 Mods had Disappeared from Nexus Mod Manager, yet I don't Remember Uninstalling them, which I Obviously MUST have done..The 1st was "Fair Skin Complexion for UNP" and the 2nd was "XPMSE"..I Reinstalled these from "A Backup" of ALL Skyrim Mods, then RAN LOOT and had 5 Errors, then TES5Edit to Clean the Files etc..Ran LOOT Again and ALL was Fine..I then RAN "FNIS" and Launched the Game and Everything was "Back to Normal"..I have Now Reconnected my RX 480 8GB..Perhaps this MAY Help Others with LOW FPS Problems and MY Apologies IF this is in the "Incorrect Section"..
