Mass Effect 3 Freeze and Crash

OK so I have a beefy enough rig to run the game and am getting a steady 60FPS and stunning graphics. However, I have encountered a freeze and crash at a certain point. I am going to put it in spoiler tags just in case anyone has not done the mission.

 

 

Eden Prime - Recover Prothean Artifact

My FemShep, Liara and EDI have arrived on Eden Prime, found the stasis container with the Prothean in it. Fought a few Cerberus dudes and got into a lab, where Shep activates a console and watches a cutscene of the Reaper attack on the Protheans and gets the code. She then has a conversation with Liara about how they have to figure out how to open the container, they draw their guns and prepare for action...and the game freezes and then CTD.

 

 

I don't have this anywhere else in the game. I have no issues at all launching the game, operating stuff in game, killing stuff.

 

Does anyone know how to fix this, any suggestions? Much appreciated!

Try spamming ESC after the cutscene. It should open the game menu after it, closing the menu should get you back in game.

 

Also try right clicking on the ME3 picture in your Origin game library and select "Repair Install".

this happened to me too, activate the consoles in a different order. strangely enough if do they in the correct order it will freeze everytime and no you cant skip those cutscenes too i tired it in my game too.

There is only one console though hector, I don't see another one.

 

I am going to try all this advice, maybe repair install first and then see about the other things that you both said.

there's 3 consoles spread out the map each one will show a cutsences. i got the same crash just as you said after the cutsence is done Liara talks to you when she finishes and youre back in control it crashes right when you pull your weapons out.

Got through by going to another console from the one I had been trying and activated that first, then the one I had been trying. We now have a rather grumpy new guest on the Normandy.
