Guess what the firebase did for April Fools?

We'll start with what I did to my Commander. Or at least, what my squad did and pinned it on me.

It's always fun when a gun backfires, shoots back, and breaks a tooth. So my squad rigged a gun the commander was going to use in the firing range with us, you know, daily practice, but the gun would pop back too far, and pop up, hitting the commander in the jaw. Or, we aimed for hitting him in the eye or something. The first bullet, it backfired slightly, not too much, the second was the good part. It shot straight up, no bullet registering, just straight "POW" in the jaw. He must've been scared or something, because he dropped the gun and dove away. As we all laughed and yelled "April Fools!" he got up and told us to run 500 yards. It was fun.

At night, toward midnight, someone kicks the door to our barrack open, and yells "We're under attack!" so we all get up, running for our equipment, loading our rifles, and sprinting to the nearest watchtower. Other people were there too, but no one saw anything. As we wondered what was going on we hear someone come over the intercom. He laughed for a second, and yelled "April Fools! Now you all get to stay up for 2 hours and watch the base!" as punishment for a gun backfiring.

Overall, I had a good April Fools, no matter how annoying it was. Running 5 football fields and staying up for 2 hours was all worth it.

So, how was everyone else's?

That's funny but I usually make some safer pranks. This year I pranked everyone at the gun range . I replaced the rounds the new guys use with the rubber ones we use when dealing with riots and stuff. And since the targets are hung on a concrete wall and are made of wood, no one could penetrate them. Should've seen their faces when they realized they just fired a whole clip and the targets are intact.

And this year I had something special for my commander. He wanted to try my gun, never fired anything that big so I gave it to him, with slight modifications to it of course. When he fired it, we were laughing like hell. I blocked the reactive tube and removed the muzzle brake so the recoil can literally rip your arm off. But, I replaced the gun with the same one destined for the junkyard so I don't mess up my own. I attached the scope so it falls off the moment he fires it, sawed the grip so he can't break his arm and unscrewed the legs so only the gun's weight holds them in place.

When he fired it, the gun flew back like 10 meters behind his back due to recoil, it looked like he fired an RPG while holding it backwards. His facial expression was priceless, his face was saying "What the f*** just happened" while sitting on the floor with pieces of the rifle laying around him ;D.

After he realized what happened he went back and prepared a prank for me. He's an expert when it comes to explosives so he modified my chair in the canteen, since I always sit on the same one. When I sat down, the back legs blew up and the front legs propelled me so a second later I found myself lying in front of the building.

The guys said I made a backflip in the air before I flew out, though it took a while for them to stop laughing so they can explain what the hell happened.

Well, I can say my april fools day was quite good actually, except for the part where I flew out the window .
