Skyrim in the Future?

doesn't anyone think what skyrim will look like in the future? dwemer technology could be more advanced, the citys more futuristic, armor and weapons more hi-tech, and the npcs, animals, and everything else more mechanical, maybe the dungeons more deadly and more complicated? here's how i see it: dovahkiin(you) have now defeated alduin, skyrim now free of dragon problems(they still fly around though) and the war is finally over. but all of sudden, in one of the MANY Dovahkiins'(still you) homes, a portal opens, you look at the portal, bewildered, wondering if it's advanced dwemer technology, you go through, and WOOSH!!!!!!!!! many, many years later, your in your home, EVERYTHING is more advanced, you go outside, and in your medieval mind, you think your in the future(even though you are in the future). and you look at the advaned hi-tech armor, clothes, and weapons that everyone is wearing, you look at your now useless gear, you soon come to the inevitable. your in the future. you can't do anything to go back to the past. it sounds like a good mod idea, and a good quest idea, so someone should try this. not to sound pushy or anything. if any one has a idea to maybe add to this, say it :)

First problem I saw in your post, Dwemer tech can't become more advanced, the Dwemer are extinct already. Though I do see the integration of Dwemer tech into daily life occurring.

Actually, I do think this would be a cool mod, ambitious though it may be. LOTS of new models would have to be made, which is one of rarer talents in the modding community it seems.

Unfortunately, the Dwemer are no longer present in Tamriel, so their tech isn't going to get any more advanced unless someone builds upon it. However, the whereabouts and fate of the Dwemer is somewhat a mystery, so it is possible that they were displaced in time; they were known to mess with a lot of dangerous magics capable of this sort of thing. Though it unlikely they achieved the ability to alter time with their own tech, they might have tapped into the magics of the Elder Scrolls to achieve this. It wouldn't surprise me, since the Elder Scroll that was used to send Alduin forward in time by the ancient Nords is, interestingly enough, being stored in some kind of Dwemer contraption.

Perhaps the player could stumble upon the hiding place of another Elder Scroll, and upon attempting to read it, be forced forward into time. The setting could be a distopian near-future Tamriel, where dragons have conquered the land and made everyone their slaves, or likewise with the Thalmor. Or, it could be a distant future much like modern-day Earth. If you like the idea of a future shaped by innovations on Dwemer tech, the future could be modeled on steam-era Europe.

Just some random ideas...

even though yes, dwemer technology is extinct, it could happen.and behughes, your idea of reading a another elder scroll and going to a steampunk era or dragons ruling tamriel is really good ideas. even though it's a bit too ambitious, it could happen.

remember guys, use constructive criticism, any ideas would help :) and i probably won't make the mod. first, i don't have the creation kit, and if i did, i would need a LOT of help with meshes, models, lighting, and a lot more stuff. second, i don't know how to make mods :(

Perhaps try coming up with a basic layout of a quest or story. Since this idea would require so many new models and scripts, you might want to limit the scope of the mod to a single quest and a small (relative to the size of Skyrim as a whole) environment.

There's a mod out right now called Moonpath to Elsweyr (http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=10738) which lets you visit a portion of Elsweyr. That mod might be a good model to go by, as far as the size and scope. You can post story ideas as they come to you, get feedback, and once you have a refined concept, maybe enough interest will be drummed up to spur some activity by modders.

Maybe, but here's the thing: i need to know at least the basics of the creation kit, so i would know how to maybe make a new landspace, and learn how to make scripts, models, and the other stuff. and i was actually aiming to at least get skyrim, i wasn't really aiming for all of tamriel. questwise, maybe you hear about the new elder scroll, and you have to find it, read it, and get send to the future. idk, it just came to me.

Dwemer are not extincted, just disappeared: in Morrowind and in Oblivion was said that all dwemer's stuff didn't works outside VVanderfell. Well, in Skyrim the dwemer cities appear quite animated... Dwemer is coming? Edited by Jodi79

At some point in the future that might just happen and they'll become the ultimate enemy of Tamriel. They've succeeded in making thier own god and now set to reclaim what is theirs and more.

I think it's a good idea. But what if the future is already in Skyrim? A few brilliant (lunatic) minds of Tamriel created a Sanctuary for their Dwemer-tech experiments. Two of them being fusing organics (human/mer) to Dwemer construct, and an attempt at God-hood (as the Dwemer did). The Dragonborn was captured and brought in to be experimented upon and he/she needs to find out the truth behind the experiments, stopping it and escape alive. This will create a sort of a Horror House atmosphere that resembles the future. The possability is somewhat endless ... Eery recorded voice logs which can be found throughout the Sanctuary that describe success and catastrophic failures of experiments. One notably being the explosion of Black-soul gem powered construct releasing madden souls which ate the researchers and now roaming the entire place. Children souls that had gone mad from being kept in black-soul gem for extended period of time (also one of the experiments conducted there - driving souls inside black-soul gems into madness increases the power output) ... damn >:P

I really love how they made the House of Horrors in Markarth ... >:3
