jio66623
I've installed my mods and they say they are installed. I do have some other mods from the mods that they offer in-game. One of the mods that I installed is an alternate start but when I play a new game it gives me the vanilla opening. I uninstalled the mods that you can download in the game and the mods for NMM still won't work. I don't know what to do? I need help.
Algabar
Did you check, if the plugin files for your mods are enabled? Plugins you want to use should be enabled (checked) in the "Plugins" Tab of NMM. Don't want to sound harsh, but I'd strongly recommend not downloading from Steam and/or Bethesda (that's the mods advertized ingame) at all. By using these platforms, you let 2 or even 3 tools (NMM included) manage your load order - which might lead to all sorts of problems with files not properly enabled or unwanted load order changes you my not even notice. Thank you. I'll take a look at that.

You were right. The plugins weren't activated but alternate start still doesn't work.
jeedge
Make sure alt start is last or near last in your load order.

jeedge
Can you post your load order - not a screen shot of what it is in NMM or MO, but the actual load order from the plugin file?

duckyduckyquackquack
The Plugin File can be found by going to the Users folder on the route of your operating system drive. So you can see I have four mods not enabled as I don't require or want these in my game, they were probably installed during other mods installation processes or are not compatible with a combination of mods I am using. For purely ease I have moved them to the bottom of my load order list, but you may find disabled mods can appear anywhere in the list if you don't manually sort or adjust your load order.
