  1. So I only added "iNumHWThreads=8" (I have the AMD FX 8350 as well). TBH, I seemingly have overall lower specs than niphilim222 - 1060 6GB instead of a 1070 GPU, a very light OC to 4.1 Ghz on the CPU, and rocking an SSD as well. Well I wonder about his SSD config - I use two SSD, one for the OS and a separate one for gaming on. But my point is, I was happy with the overall performance and with SSE, it has exceeded my initial expectations. I realize acceptable performance is subjective from person to person. For me - with 170ish mods, tons of NPC/creature adds, mix of 1K/2K textures, and full ENB, I've been happy with the 40-60 FPS (outside/inside respectively). Too soon to tell yet, but in running my character around and outside Whiterun last night after adding the single ini line and I didn't notice any performance increase or decrease. Will report back again if I notice anything significant.
  2. Hello, I'm always interested in tweaks... In reading your ini file, I came across these lines and was wondering why "iHWThread1=" is listed multiple times? The STEP suggests that these seem to be unused by the game or no difference was noticed? iHWThread1=7 iHWThread1=6 iHWThread1=5 iHWThread1=4 iHWThread3=3 iHWThread1=2 iHWThread1=1
  3. Hey I know you! lol I did some reading up on it. Lot's of posts out there on the bug in both oldrim and newrim, but similar to this forum lately, no one gets a resolution or magic pill to fix it. One good suggestion I saw was about FNIS. When you generate for users - update animations., are you also selecting any patches - like the skeleton fix and perhaps the one listed above that? Rest indicate that they are not relevant for SE. Just an idea. Also, make sure you see no FNIS errors, I mean zero, zilch during generation.
  4. Aye, I agree with Mathius59 for def. putting in Bijins. Actually with Bij AIO, it covers the three Bijin mods PLUS Serenaholic and that valerca mod so it's like getting '5 mods for the price of one ESP spot' so why not do it? Provided you explicitly follow the Bijin All in One install instructions explicitly *very important... One word of caution, if you use Bijins with other overhauls or anything that touches the NPCs covered by Bijins, you must make sure Bijins AIO is the last mod of the other mods it is conflicting with otherwise you may see the dark face, purple hair bugs.
  5. One slightly related question I've had is maybe closely resembling the original question enough to ask... I always wondered if there were any mods out there that don't have the bash tags set for delev, relev but would benefit from a modder manually adding those tags in LOOT prior to building the patch?
  6. I really really like this mature skin mod: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/2962/ UNP has been out for SE longer than CBBE, and hence the reason why it is still more supported overall with a > number of UNP specific mods but CBBE and CBBE supported mods are quickly growing in number. Just from remembering my oldrim days of using CBBE, I've found UNP to be more realisric with the right skin tecture but everyone has their own preference.

  8. Can you post your load order - not a screen shot of what it is in NMM or MO, but the actual load order from the plugin file?
  9. If it's not too late, running Bethini can't hurt before deciding to reinstall/refresh. I was recently turned onto Bethini and I see that it was just updated on Jan 28th so I might have to check it out again myself: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/4875/?tab=files
  10. I was about to archive away some info I had and thought I'd post it up here where it will probably get lost into Oblivion (I intended that). it might come in handy if, for whatever reason, someone needs the latest or older SkyrimSE.exe version and he or she doesn't want to hassle with steam's integrity check, download, and replace options. To check to see what your SkyrimSE.exe version is without launching the game, go into the Skyrim Special Edition game folder, then right-click on SkyrimSE.exe and select "Properties', then in properties, select "Details" and there's the version (coined "Product Version") *If* for some reason you needed to get an older or the current SkyrimSE.exe version, I found a good posting on how to get the files from Steam and I also found the two Steam DB pages containing all the info you'd need to piece together the command-line in Steam console. It works, I grabbed all the versions listed there just to have in a safe place. Here is the link to a good article on how to download ANY version of the SkyrimSE.exe from steam console (or EXEs for other games on steam as well):https://www.reddit.com/r/Steam/comments/611h5e/guide_how_to_download_older_versions_of_a_game_on/ Then for Skyrim SE specifically, here are the Steam reference database pages containing the values needed to complete the console download line mentioned from the article linked above.https://steamdb.info/depot/489833/apps/https://steamdb.info/depot/489833/manifests/ E~A~G~L~E~S~!!!
  11. Is it an old save or new character new start save you're using? If old, try cleaning with Fallrim Tools. What manager are you using to install mods? NMM or MO? Also you might need to use Wyre Bash and make a BASH patch, I'd suggest looking at a guide for using it first on here or youtube. Best case scenario, starting from scratch. You install 4-5 mods (some would even say that is too many at once around here), Test playthrough, if good - add 4-5 more, Test playthrough again. Rinse n repeat until you have an issue. Then each mod manager has a way to tell what mods were installed when via, for example, in NMM mod tab I can sort the listing by install date then if I know my game was perfect on Feb 1st then started goofing on me on Feb 2nd, then I sort the list and can see which mods I installed on the 2nd. Exceptions to that of course are some of the 'non-mods' that one must manually like SKSE, or run an extra tool or utility after installation like FNIS requires.... I've never been great at analyzing the papyrus logs but I see the instances of something not finding something else all over the place. Best of luck to your troubleshooting. I know a lot of the time it just comes down to trial and error after doing the obvious checks. If you're really feeling the desire to do so, check out on how to learn how to spot mod conflicts using TesEdit watching the youtube video(for SE it's called SSEedit). I've had great success using that tool to find causes for NPC gray face/purple hair or which mods were causing ordinator's perk trees to not appear. Great tool!
  12. Nice finds Vanderplate! I bookmarked this page because I intend to implement those mods into my precious current mod build. I've been happy with this one too: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/12644
  13. Try porting it over? I believe in you, you can do it! Wanted to inform you about another huge DLC sized mod that hardly anyone has heard of. A slightly tropical, very desert-like world. A chinese-made mod that is not on nexus, called World of Rudra. An english version was ported to SE, tried it. The English translation was poor, probably not the author's native language but when I arrived to the port in that world, I was quite impressed. You first talk to a guy sitting inside the alchemist's shop in Whiterun to get things started.... Not sure if I can link non-Nexus mod sites but it's an easy google search. I have not been, so far, impressed with the quests but I've hardly gone through the world yet.
  14. I'm sorry, I didn't mean for you to watch and implement what was prescibed in the video, only to read the portion of my post concerning skyrim and skse versions. The implementation of SSE Fixes is a whole matter entirely and not one I recommend to use unless you are comfortable with manual modding, copy/pasting, compiling stuff... If you did implement SSE fixes, I'd remove that for now, no need to introduce new variables into the issues. Otherwise, I still stand behind the other points I made after "other considerations". This time, I noticed you have haste installed. I personally had some trouble with that one and ended up using the same author's lighter-weight "I didn't see nuthin' mod, but I also have a 170 plugin load order going too.
  15. Make sure alt start is last or near last in your load order.
  16. Aye, I sometimes run into issue then I find it interesting and challenging (so basically... fun!) to troubleshoot issues until the problem/s are fixed. Then I feel like I accomplished something super technical and start to have delusions of granduer, imaging that I'm the SNL IT guy (originally played by Jimmy Fallon) and I get to finally tell someone to "Move!". Along a similar vein, I enjoy building and upgrading my own PCs over buying a finished brand name product then looking inside my wallet to see all those dollar bills I saved in the process but then... but to each his own. On a more serious note - I will be closely monitoring the implementation of Vortex in about a week or two from now (Replacing NMM) and I hope it will make modding much easier for all of us. Good luck!
  17. Hello. I'm leaving you a link to check out, not to plug a previous post I did but I will 're-paste' things anytime it saves me the trouble of re-typing the same content again. https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/Videos/1094 The subject is for a different objective but the main thing I mentioned at that post was with the first two items - checking what your Skyrim SE EXE version is, then matching it up to the correct version of SKSE, then for SkyUI - using the correct version of SkyUI with the correct version of SKSE. That one's just a check-list type thing and may or may not help you. Other thoughts - looks like you used LOOT, I'm not familiar with all your Zxxxx ESPs like "ZAB_V4.esp", what mod is that from? But overall, it's a pretty lightweight mod load. Other considerations - adding a Wyre BASHED patch then testing that with a new character. Might want to do that without 54 36 rebalanced leveled lists.esp installed. Double check the availability of patches for all your mods. Open Cities - I see one patch, lots out there for OC though. Ars Metallica, I vaguely recall not including that in my load order due to the lack of there being a patch. Anyway I think you will get the point I made here..
  18. @999-jay-999 - I see that duplicated armor thing happening on my build. It's actually a blessing in disguise since I just recently started recording videos of my game-play and have UNP nude bodies installed. So if not recording, I simply 'take all' then the corpse is nude, but when recording I've been trying to keep things PG rated so the extra armor let's me still loot, then I leave the worn armor on the body. So I still get good valued loot, without changing the rating of the video! :) @Algabar - Hmm, I may experiment with this then at some point. I see the opportunity to merge 9-10 mods as a good starting point. A while ago I ran the experiment outlined in the SSE Fixes mod page (installing a ton of dummy mods, 20 at a time or so between tests) and I saw, firsthand, the so-called issue of Skyrim SE FPS being effectively lowered simply due to higher and higher mod count, regardless whether the mods contribute to taxing the game engine or not. In this case, the dummy ESPs did not contribute any load to the engine at all and yet the FPS went down. So if this Mator Smash patch could let me net a few FPS back, it'd be worth it. Regarding the fixing of outstanding new/old bugs, Bethesda kind of reminds me of a Patriot's Coach Belichick news conference >> "...we're on to Cincinatti!" http://www.nfl.com/videos/nfl-am/0ap3000000403749/Belichick-We-re-on-to-Cincinnati
  19. Shot in the dark, are you trying to use any Oldrim (Skyrim 32-bit) mods with SE?
  20. Excellent explanation Algabar, thank you. I am very familiar with Bash patch but never used Mator Smash before. I did watch a video after I posted the question up (maybe should have watch the video first LOL). Also confusing is a lot of misinformation out there suggesting to never use both at the same time? Anyway, I am still happy with the results I get using Wyre Bash and since I typically try to stay below 160-170 mods total, I don't think I'll be needing to check into using Mator Smash anytime soon. Cheers!
  21. Hello there! Wow, you caught me at a good moment where I actually took the time to look through your huge mod list. :P Most won't make it past the first 50 or so... but that said, one thing I like to do when looking at large load orders, is I immediately look at the last 20 or so because that's an area that could have so called 'troublemaker mods'. Looks like you did run LOOT evidenced by where I typically see LOOT placing realistic water pretty late into the order. You *are* pushing it with your computer spec with such a large order. That doesn't mean it can't handle it, but I know with large load order, running the game off an SSD does wonders for game stability when there are multiple scripts running, etc.. i3 6100 - At first I coughed. i3!? But I see it has a pretty decent Ghz speed, cache looks OK. Not the best, but not bad. If you aren't trying to record video/streaming, should be OK here. The only experiment you might want to try is running the game with hyperthreading disabled to see if that makes a difference? It's an 'experiment' that I would try out if I were in your shoes. gtx 1050ti - I'm guessing 2 or 3GB VRAM? I didn't notice a lot of texture mods (ie... 2K or 4K).. If I missed that, you might consider using 'one' tier lower textures. Using an ENB? Then try running without (experiment). Otherwise this should be OK at 1080... "game installed on H drive 1 tb wd blue" - Nowadays, I always say ouch to HDDs. With that many mods, I'd consider getting at least a small SSD drive to reinstall your OS and maybe your favorite 2-3 games on. This is a great performance upgrade to any system only having HDDs. Mods: BirdsOfSkyrim_SSE.esp You have a LOT of creature/NPC adding mods installed. These will tax the system and I suggest disabling Birds then see if that improves things imperious - I have heard this one conflicts with a lot of stuff, have not used the mod before. I doubt it in your case due to the intermittent crash times being a little more random. Or, can you see a pattern of crashing somewhere, a certain spot, cerrtain events happening just before the crash? Patching: Might consider using a Wyre Bashed patch (lot's of how to's on here and youtube) or many seem to be trying out Mator Smash lately (I haven't tried MS yet). I am religious about adding a bashed patch to every build. Gut feeling, too many NPC/creature adding mods for the hardware to handle... Good luck, will check in later since I'm always curious to know what the cause was in cases like these.
  22. There's a newer one that looks to increase arrow/bolt speed and that's on the main 'new mods' page right now. We missed the boat on "Complete Archery Overhaul SE" since that mod was taken down for whatever reason. I know you can get the oldrim version off steam, then I suppose one could segregate all the files workshop installs then do a convert to SE (for one's self, not to post up anywhere) if it's really a must have. I see the spanish version is still on here... maybe re-editing the language areas of the mod back to English (is that easier?) A few for SE: Adds an arrow shop: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/2282 Ordinator - perks of skyrim is a must have for all my playstyles, great archery perk tree: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/1137 Might be good, haven't tried it: Andromeda Unique Standing Stones of Skyrim https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/14910 *What looks interesting is the Warrior unique power 'Star of the West', might be handy in an unexpected longer fight if you ran out of stamina potion.
  23. Hi SSGMartin, JohnnynRoger (part time Jeedge's hero) made several great points. Based on your Laptop specs - a 970m is like "half" the performance of a desktop 970 card equivalent. Laptop i5/i7 variants are slower CPU clock (evidenced by your 2.6 Ghz CPU speed where desktop variants have turbo variants of over 4 Ghz). Great pickups in performance due to having the SSD and 16GB RAM but.... I'd probably keep the total mod count to about 50 mods total - especially NPC adding types (populated, OBIS, immersive patrols, etc). Textures - stick with 1K or lower then consider the mod suggested earlier, insignificant object remover. (It's great). Run bethini then consider adding "SSE Fixes" only if you can handle it (and don't use the mod attached download, look for the alternative links listed in the posts section). Those are just my opinions based on your laptop specs and my 20+ years in the computer industry. But again, I wouldn't know for sure unless I tried your laptop out and did some testing with it - hence, opinions not fact. good luck!
  24. "When you do a hard manual save, the game pauses EVERYTHING - mods firing, scripts running or firing, combat, and so on. " Hi Gromulos, nice to see you on here. So I should have been more specific. WHEN I use the above savehotkey mod, then Yes - it IS a full hard save. But at the same time, I make sure I am not involved with any fighting or moving activity, never in the middle of dialogue or what not. Also, more often than not, I make sure I am inside a small area before saving. It was a suggestion but I agree, still need to be critical of what's going on in the game whenever you save. I still believe the full save is preferable over auto and quick saving - and your explanation of why I disable those other save types fills my desire for a good reason to stick to only hard saves. The mod simply makes this easier and has proven to be a real time-saver for me. Thanks brotha! :)
  25. All, I am looking into trying out Mator Smash. I've always used Wyre Bashed patches for both oldrim and SE and very familiar with that. When comparing the two, which patch type seemed to 'work better'? Did Mator Smash resolve any major or minor issues that Wyre Bashed patch did not? Same question in reverse order as well... Thoughts?
