Alright, several questions here.

1. Can you walk into Abernathy farm without it crashing?

2. Can you do the same with Sanctuary and Red Rocket? (This is a known problem area and Abernathy is close to it)

3. Can you fast travel to either of those.

3. How much of the settlement budget have you used, and how many settlers do you have at each of those settlements?

4. Are you using fast travel mats at any of those settlements?

 

In my experience crashing on fast travel is caused by one of these things; too much stuff built nearby, too many settlers, both at once, or one of them plus a fast travel mat. Of course, that's just in my experience, who knows what other problems you could be running into.

I can walk to abernathy without crashing, even though I got a HUGE dip in FPS when walking there.

I can FT to sanctuary and RR without problems.

All three settlements are occupied, but none of them are anywhere near yellow on budget, and only sanctuary has a large number of settlers. RR has 4, Abernathy has 14, but most of those are companions.

Abernathy has a FT mat.

Best thing I can suggest is to remove the FT mat and spread your companions over various settlements. I have heard before, but haven't personally confirmed, that having a large number of companions in a single settlement can be problematic because they have more complex AI than normal settlers.

It's a null point right now since I'm getting game freezes every 30 mins more or less on the dot. Game will run fine, etc etc, then I will hit the 30 min mark, game will freeze and then go to "Program Not Responding". Annoying AF. Even with all the Beth troubleshooting not making a difference.
