Shalena was a bit surprised to hear this question. No one were really interested in that. "My mother worked as a maid in some nobles house and there was a cook who used to tell all kinds of stories about pirates and their adventures. They fascinated me and once I was old enough I went to Tortuga and joined the pirates."

For a moment she remained silent. "It wasn't the treasures that made me so interested in pirates. It was the freedom."

Alessia was about walk in... but then she heard the part about freedom... that touched her deeply, for that is what she wanted to, and hearing of a woman who had that made Alessia cry, she stood at the side of the ship, tears rolling down her cheeks, but not so anyone could hear her cry, she did so silently.
