leopardkaos99
I have a massive problem with my Skyrim, it lags worse than any other game I've played. I have a NVIDIA GeForce 9300 GEProcessor: Intel® Core™2 Duo CPUMemory: 8192MB RAM I've used SkyBoost, TESVAL, SKSE, CFF Explorer, and the D3D9.dll file, and NOTHING will make my Skyrim run faster.I've used versions 1.4.21-1.5.26 and updated all my drivers and downloaded Game Booster 3 and deleted and re-intalled Skyrim several times, nothing ever works and the highest FPS I've ever gotten is about 20 on the LOWEST quality and I was staring at the sky.I have also tampered with my NVIDIA control panel and that didn't do anything either. Please Help Me!
RitualBlack
The reason Skyrim is lagging is because of the Geforce 9300. It is below the minimum recommended card to play Skyrim. I am afraid that a graphics card upgrade is the only thing that would fix your problem.
leopardkaos99
It has 8GB RAM? I've seen people play with only half that and they play on high/ultra settings
RitualBlack
Game performance doesn't really have to do with ram (and your computer has 8gb ram, your video card has 256MB). Each graphics card has its own specifications just like a computer does and it is important to research that information when deciding what you want to do with your computer. The amount of ram (video) doesn't have much do with performance unless you are playing at really high resolutions and the type of ram you are talking about has even less to do with game performance. My laptop for example has 4gb video ram and I will most likely never see the benefit of it. On the other hand the actual specs of the cards are what is important. My cards with 4GB (2x2GB) video ram are not quite as good as a Nvidia gtx 580 with 2GB video ram. They are laptop cards so it isn't really a fair comparison but it demonstrates that more ram doesn't mean faster. Sorry, I am rambling a bit but to summarize: If you want a card that will play games really well you should be researching the specs and comparing benchmarks. Hopefully this helps you understand the situation a bit better  .
leopardkaos99
Well my computer was custom built for gaming and photo and video editing, obviously not that good of gaming, and it only has 2.93Hz duo core cpu (decent right?)
RitualBlack
That is definitely a good enough processor to play games on. Absolutely nothing wrong with it. The video card would be perfect for doing your normal things and you can still play games on it but it just isn't enough for some of the more demanding games out there. MotoSxorpio
That CPU and GFX combo might be the very weakest hardware setup supported by the game. GFX card upgrade would be recommended, the 9300 is old old. :) I have seen 460Gt for less than $100 and got my 550ti for $129 with rebate thru Newegg.com. Also try removing unnecessary services from startup, search google for blackviper's site for well tested services listings. Freeing up that dual core is a must.
