Thank You from a Console Pleb

Wow, I just looked it up and would be more than happy to test it for you! Being able to set up a shooting range is something us console users have been hoping would come along. Of course this means having to deal with Bethesda.net  and probably the best thing to do would be to upload it to WIP so that I could download it and then spend a good amount of time giving it a thorough trial on Xbox. I am sure Chucksteel would be more than happy to give you any pointers in dealing with the sometimes frustrating Bethesda site. I’ll shoot you a PM!

Oh man, that terrible bethesda.net site is the reason the console versions of my mods have been so truncated. Institute Electrolasers has something like 8 different plugin options on here to fit various preferences, and AARP has 5 or so, but all I did on beth.net was one for DLC and one for no DLC. Everything about it felt broken and just designed to make life harder. You can't upload multiple versions of the same mod to one mod page, every version has to be a separate page, which means uploading files, images, and entering details for every single version separately. Even something as simple as an alternative texture has to be a completely different mod page.

Then, the word filter blocks you from updating the text if certain words are used, and it's been some pretty dumb ones, but it doesn't filter anything when you upload directly from the Creation Kit. That makes it easier to upload to a completely new page for the mod and erase the old one than to try and figure out what word in your text is blocking the description from updating.

Oh, and images don't upload or update properly either. One of my mods looks like it has the same image uploaded three times, but I actually uploaded three different pictures and said f*** it when beth.net wouldn't let me fix it.

I really wish you guys could get the full modding experience. I feel so sorry for what mod authors focused on the consoles have to go through with that site and I really hope Bethesda gets it together before they have to support a third game. In the meantime, I'll keep uploading as much as I can tolerate maintaining. My Rangemaster should be available for Xbox players this weekend in fact, either Friday or Saturday night.

Sounds really horrible. I already have some doubts if I took the right decision to try this. Feel sorry for all console users and modders who have to deal with such a system.

Yeah, the site is a right mess and I have heard all the same complaints from several mod authors that upload to Bethesda.net. I really wish they would get their site sorted out because I know it is a deterrent for a lot of modders. But hey, you can now upload a total of 12 pictures (I think that number is correct) to your mod page that will not work, so you are now able to have 4 times the fun if you are a masochist and like torture! Yippee! :P Edited by yakalrad
