The Last of the Order

The year is 1815, and most of the assassin orders have been relocated to join the newly forming one in the New World. Some orders, however, refuse to leave, and stay put. The French order is one such order, but like many, it has been left behind. No resources, no glory, barely any members, you are an assassin in this branch, looking to help rebuild. You rely on skill over weapons that you can't afford, and help you're brothers and sisters in the steps to rebuilding. But without a mentor, there's no one to lead the order. Everyone now sticks together to lead the order, however, not everyone gets off on the same page.....

Emile was sitting in a wooden chair outside the bazaar, where people came and went. He enjoyed the noise, though it was odd, it helped him think. He was tired as he had just finished some rough work in Moscow. His hood was down so the cool breeze today could blow by. He was one of the senior members of the French order, he was in the order when is collapsed to the New World and betrayal that killed his mentor.

Nox stepped out of the café, an espresso in one hand with a newspaper tucked under his arm and his top hat in the other, he replaced his hat and spotted Emile outside the Bazaar, he hadn't checked in with him in a long time so he thought it best to give a little report. Nox sat down across from Emile, placing his espresso on the table and taking up his paper, "Bonjour, Emile, how are you?" He asked in impeccable French. Nox scanned his paper thoroughly, carefully noting any particularly outstanding police officers, corrupt or virtuous, and any incidents in the sectors of town he had the most contacts and influence in. Suddenly an article caught his eye, "Say Emile, have you heard about Napoleon? Escaped from Elba just a day ago. Blasted papers pick this rubbish up almost as fast as myself. Well at any rate, I'll bet that this will soon be yet another end to the Monarchy, however temporary." He had learned of the escape from Elba, he had strong connections in the South of France and word traveled very quickly if you had the right fingers greased and alert enough ears. He was shocked though that the papers had already reported the incident. It would only be a few days before Napoleon would land on shore and begin his reconquest of France. Nox had hoped that he would have the advantage of knowing Napoleon's movements the best out of anyone in Europe but Napoleon himself, it seemed there were too many informants for it to all stay under wraps.

OOC>I had to fight every fiber of my being to resist writing all of my dialogue in French  But I couldn't resist putting in some of my French history. Let me know if I restricted us too much with dates (this puts us at February 27th 1815) and I'll modify it a little bit.

OOC: Long day, didn't get to post, but luckily I have my free time now. The current date is set then, Feb 27th.

IC: Emile looked up at Nox, smiling at the familiar face.

"The Order has enough problems to deal with, and it doesn't help when France raises it's own problems," he said. He wasn't much for talk, but he could pull through for a fellow assassin, especially one who resists going to the new order.

"My sister joined the new order a few weeks ago, leaving me the only member of my family left in this land. I made them a promise; I would rebuild the order and lead it to a golden age. But I bet they believe I don't have the courtesy to do that. Curse whoever found the New World."
